The Spotlight on Prince Regent Hotel Excel London

Comfort and Convenience Near the O2 and Excel

Modern, practical, and well-connected, the Prince Regent Hotel Excel London is a budget-friendly base in East London. Just a 5-minute walk from the Excel Exhibition Centre and Prince Regent DLR station, and only a 10-minute drive to the O2 Arena, it offers a simple, clean place to rest between gigs and sightseeing.
Free Wi-Fi, free limited parking, and an unbeatable location near transport hubs make it a smart choice for music fans visiting London.

Why Concert-goers love it

Minutes from the O2 Arena and with London City Airport a short drive away, this hotel is all about convenience. The 5-minute walk to the DLR means you're quickly connected to central London or your next venue. After a late show, the 24-hour front desk and flexible check-out at 12:00 let you ease into the morning. Rooms are quiet for a city location, and some even feature balconies for a breath of fresh air.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends hitting a gig together and splitting costs
  • Solo travelers who want a secure, well-located base
  • Couples looking for a weekend near the O2
  • Fans wanting a quieter post-concert recovery space away from central hustle
  • Budget-conscious music fans who need affordable comfort

Food and Drink Options

Start the day after a gig with a hearty Full English breakfast served in the bright dining room. While there's no on-site bar or late-night restaurant, the area offers several walkable eateries, and room service is available 24/7 for those late-night cravings.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself is more of a quiet retreat than a party hotspot, it's only a short DLR or taxi ride to bars and lounges in Canary Wharf and the buzzing nightlife around the O2 Arena. Great for those who want to experience the music scene, then return to somewhere peaceful.

What People Say

Guests love the clean rooms, helpful staff, and excellent location for events at the O2 or Excel Centre. The free parking and value for money are also big pluses. Many reviews mention how easy it is to get around thanks to the nearby DLR station.

Areas for Improvement

The décor may not be the trendiest, and the area is more functional than scenic—but for the price and location, most guests agree it’s a fair trade. Limited parking means arriving early is a plus.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers looking for an affordable, clean, and well-located hotel near the O2 Arena, the Prince Regent Hotel hits the right notes.

Even though the room was quite small I enjoyed my stay very much and I would return if I get the chance. Overall a very nice time.

Liked: The proprieter and staff were polite and easy to talk to.
Disliked: The toilet area was a bit small.

Chloe S, Derby

We arrived 30 minutes before our check in time and were shown straight to our room. After travelling for 2.5 hours I really wanted a coffee, and there was a kettle in the room which was a bonus. The iron and ironing board was great - saved me having to walk to reception like a lot of chain hotels. The bed was comfy and the shower was lovely - no hot and cold water, just hot water straight away! The rooms were quiet, no street noise which I was expecting. The breakfast wasn't amazing but I wouldn't knock it. The coffee wasn't nice - it tasted like it had been stood for a while, and probably had been, as we came down half an hour before breakfast would finish. I would have preferred instant coffee instead of stale coffee. The food was nice but I would have preferred more options. All in all a good hotel for the price and I will be staying here again, should I ever come to the O2 again - the location is great if you're going there - 5 minutes on the tube!

Liked: The room was clean; tea and coffee facility in the room; the shower; free wifi; good TV; quiet location.
Disliked: The breakfast wasn't great but I wouldn't say bad.

Good value for money, with...

Liked: The staff were very helpful and informative. They were quite welcoming and willing to assist where they could. The rooms were small, but more or less exactly as advertised. Housekeeping was done regularly and the standard of the room was generally quite good. They also offered fruit fruit in the lobby, which I was grateful for. All in all, good value for money. I would have no problem if I had to book here again.
Disliked: The room I stayed in only had one small window and a desk fan, which was appreciated, but didn't help much with the heat. The bathroom also only has a shower curtain separating from the toiler, but given the space of the whole unit that's understandable. Would have preferred a dedicated bath mat as the water will run on the floor a bit, but you are provided with a floor towel, which I appreciated.

Really enjoyed stay could not...

Liked: Very attentive staff at reception, due to warm weather was given cold bottle of water each and offered free fruit which was a nice gesture. We stayed at the annexe and were escorted to building and the rooms 30seconds away, and told if we needed anything reception was 24 hours and to not hesitate to contact if we needed anything
Disliked: unfortunatly the annexe does not have air conditioning ,and was quite warm due to the weather .A fan was on in our room and our daughters, and windows open for fresh air .We knew there was no air conditioning and was reflected in the price slightly cheaper than main hotel. In hind sight would book main hotel especially in warm weather, but for price could not fault accomadation We were going to Excel and this was only 5 minutes walk away .Excellant location for excel could not fault
