Extrodinary hotel with spectacular scenery.

Liked: Beautiful location looking out over Emerald Bay in this historical hotel while having High Tea was an experience of a lifetime.
Disliked: The fee added to my credit card that was not disclosed until I was returning room keys and checking out after prepaying for the room.

Disliked: Blew a fuse.. wiring is old…hotel is 100 yrs old so perfectly understandable. Why is coffee/tea not available in the lobby?

Disliked: Rooms are old fashioned, poor quality furnishings with inadequate bathroom facilities for the modern traveller. For a supposedly upmmarket hotel the food and beverage facilities where restricted with service being limited or non existance outside of usual meal hours. being

Liked: No complementary breakfast although complementary coffee was excellent.
Disliked: Quality of food didn't meet the cost of the food in the pub.

Liked: What a fabulous location overlooking the lake.! The room was comfortable, the bed was great, the bathroom appeared to have been upgraded at some point and was very nice.We enjoyed interacting with staff, finding out where there were from, etc.Breakfast was superb, loved the healthy options.
Disliked: While staying at a historical hotel is special, there is a lot of upkeep that has been overlooked fora long time. The doors to our room, both to the hallway and the balcony, don’t seal so there is a constant draft in the room, especially with all the wind that this location receives.The exterior paint is in bad shape, peeled, cracked, etc.
