The Spotlight on Premier Inns Thousand Oaks

Affordable Comfort Just Off the 101

Modern convenience meets California ease at Premier Inns Thousand Oaks. Located in Newbury Park right off Highway 101, this pet-friendly hotel offers simple, clean comfort with no-frills charm. With amenities like a year-round outdoor pool and hot tub, and in-room perks like cable TV with extended sports and movie channels, it’s a great place to recharge after a night of live music.
Whether you're catching a show at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza just 5 miles away or exploring the local scene, this hotel keeps you close to the action without blowing your budget.

Why Concert-goers love it

Concert-goers appreciate the easy highway access and quiet location—ideal for winding down post-show. With check-in starting at 4:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM, there's enough flexibility to fit in road trips or late-night returns. While not in the heart of a nightlife district, it’s a smart option for fans who want a good night’s sleep after the encore.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for clean, affordable rooms
  • Solo travelers on a music pilgrimage
  • Couples seeking a low-key weekend retreat
  • Fans who prefer a quieter place to crash
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who'd rather spend on tickets than lodging

Food and Drink Options

While the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, there are vending machines on-site for quick snacks and drinks. Several casual dining spots are within a short drive or walk, and you’ll find breakfast options nearby for those slow, post-concert mornings. Perfect for travelers who like to keep it simple.

Nightlife Options

You won’t find a party scene at the hotel itself, but you’re within reach of local bars and lounges in Thousand Oaks and nearby Ventura County. Ideal if you want to explore a bit before or after your show without staying in a crowded downtown area.

What People Say

Guests love the value for money and praise the hotel’s cleanliness and friendly staff. The pet-friendly policy is a bonus for those traveling with furry companions. Many reviewers mention the quiet atmosphere, making it a great choice for decompressing after a loud night out.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are basic and a bit dated—think more “classic motel” than “boutique hotel.” There’s no on-site restaurant or bar, so you’ll need to venture out for meals and nightlife. Still, what it lacks in flash, it makes up for in convenience and affordability.

The Bottom Line

If you’re catching a concert nearby and want a budget-friendly, quiet place to crash, Premier Inns Thousand Oaks covers all the essentials without the fuss.

Passable

Liked: The unit was facing the street, and you could hear the traffic all night long, and the biggest distraction was the heat/a/c unit made a bad rumbling noise every time it kicked on, woke me up at least 12 times

Best value for a comfortable...

Liked: I like that the dogs are allowed at this place and that there are laminate, non carpeted floors. There was also a fridge in the room. Every time I come here it is always clean and comfortable. The beds are in decent shape. The price is the least expensive in Ventura County; the best value possible. I come here often to avoid a loud and annoying drunk. It's always quiet and the scene is peaceful.
Disliked: The walls are a little stark with no decoration and the TV is a little small, but that is not expected at the price.

Ruined and disrespected, lied to,...

Liked: The price
Disliked: They did not give me the room I ordered. The carpet was soaking wet when we got there and stunk so bad, we asked for a different room we asked for the room we ordered with hard floors and the refused saying we never ordered that room even though I showed them the proof that I did. The refrigerator in the room wouldn’t close so none of my drinking would stay cold in there. The stuff was very unfriendly and refused to fix the fridge they told me it’s fine how it was and to stick my suitcase in front of the fridge to get it to close. The whole room was discussing with the wet floors and they stunk so bad! If you walked in them with your socks or bare feet they would turn black and smell soooo bad. The pool and jacuzzi was green and brown from being so dirty we could not even use it. The check in area with the staff had the whole front desk area stinking of marijuana, they were very unfriendly and unhelpful, they screamed at my fiancé making her cry saying they aren’t going to help us or give us the room that we ordered and to just deal with it. IT RUINED OUR TRIP AND WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN. Would never recommend!!!!

Low budget, low amenities

Liked: It met the basic requirements: clean, hot water, comfortable bed.
Disliked: It lacked the amenities one expects even from a budget motel:No free wifiNo coffee maker nor free coffee on premises No mini fridge (although listed in ad)No microwaveNo outlets near bed nor USB jacks anywhereNo security latch on doorNo soundproofing. The traffic noise from the 101 Freeway was loud and constant

Never again

Liked: Price
Disliked: I requested a bottom floor due to my knee issues and my gravely disabled brother has balance issues. I emailed, I called three times to check into getting registered at an earlier time. I told the SAME gentleman that I start work at 3 and check in is at 4. My job is 25 minutes away. The last call he brushed me off and was quick to hang up. This property was booked and none of the rooms were clean each time I called. This caused me to call out to work which is NOT something I do habitually. I couldn’t even cancel because it’s a NON REFUNDING facility. The next day after checking out I finally got a response stating YES, I can check in early.
