Postillion Hotel Amsterdam

Clean with good location but...

Liked: Clean and location was good.
Disliked: The hotel did not inform us beforehand about the AC not working in the whole entire building. It was 26+ degrees outside and even hotter inside the room. The staff brushed it off and told us about it like it's no big deal. For 2 nights we didn't sleep, kept sweating our skin off and our concert experience was suffering from this cause getting ready in that unbearable heat in the room was absolutely insane. As a 4 star hotel the least they could do is to warn customers beforehand until the ac is fixed despite them possibly losing customers. In the middle of a summer heat wave it's absolutely disgusting how they handled the situation, not offering anything to make up for the damage (except ice cream). And the AC issue had been going on for weeks.Other things to mention, the tablet next to the bed used to control lights and even curtains did not work well, and was honestly unnecessarily difficult. Lights in the bathroom were motion sensor lights and turned off mid shower - you have to step out to wave in front of the mirror to get them back on.

Disliked: I did not like that it didn’t give you water to drink or face cloth

Fantastic modern hotel near Amsterdam...

Liked: Lovely modern hotel with lots of quirky gadgets in the room!
Disliked: Could be a little closer to the centre of Amsterdam, but the walk in was very pleasant taking approximately 30 mins from the hotel to the famous skinny bridge, along a beautiful river / canal. Parking was a bit expensive, but very secure!
