Fabulous and beautiful place for...

Liked: The setting is stunning. First time staying in the actual hotel and it is beautifully appointed.
Disliked: It was a bit overheated - 23 degrees in our bedroom and no thermostat so we slept with the windows wide open!

Great place to stay if...

Liked: The location is great, we enjoyed being in walking distance of Portmeirion village. The breakfast was really nice. The hotel gardens and flowers are beautiful. The bar on an evening did great cocktails.
Disliked: We didn’t like the shower in the bathroom because you cannot adjust the height or the pressure - we both found the pressure was really harsh. There were also a few hairs and a hygiene seal from a shower gel still in the bath upon arrival - however, after this occasion we found the cleaners to be very efficient and thorough.

Its ok, not great.

Liked: Its a walkable village with its own small 'garden' and such, Breastfast waspretty good,, and the staffa here are micj more friendly and approachable comapred to dinner resto, sad cause dinner payable ans breakfast included.
Disliked: Honestly, we grp of 4, we personally felt thisbplace overated. The village w to tour actually pretty small, not offering much activities.Restaurant was highly price with small portion (perhaps its fine dining), service was slow at dinner, we split water and the staff took so long to come over to help to dry up the dining table.

Could do better.

Liked: The location and variety of interesting things to see and do were very good. Walks and views were excellent. Some of the staff were really helpful, some less so.
Disliked: The room had no view but looked over a rear courtyard where deliveries were made at 7am while staff were shouting, talking loudly and washing vehicles under our bedroom window at that time. The food was generally good, but we had to send the steak back as it was so tough, and when it was replaced it wasn't much better.

Vers nice

Liked: Love the Castle and the Priors. The room no. 6 in the hotel did not have a fridge and we would have appreciated to have a fridge. If we plan to come back we would stay at the Castle or at the Priors. We found that the price for the hotel was too expensive compared to the one at the Castle. For the same, the room at the Castle was much better. But that said, we enjouée a lot our stay. Personnel was great.
Disliked: See the above
