Very Good - 4.0 out of 5

Lori, Whitefield, visiting Merrill Auditorium Sun, 5 April 2015

It was a great stay. The food was so amazing! The staff was very accommodating. We only had 20 minutes before the breakfast was to close and they were still able to seat us. It was was a wonderful get away - thank you very much!

Liked: Wish we could have stayed longer.

Pretty good and would probably...

Liked: Location in the city is nearly unbeatable and the rooms were comfortable - nothing special but what you would expect for a hotel room and definitely clean!
Disliked: The main thing that we didn't like were the hot tub hours (which were not clearly listed online or in the hotel that any of us saw at least), which ended strangely early in the evening (7pm). My parents run a hot tub rental business in the nearby area and they typically close at 10pm (and provide a much more specialized and private reservation service than this hotel does for the hot tubs). We even paid an extra ~$30/night compared to another alternative hotel we considered because we wanted to have access to a hot tub, but with their hours of operation and our schedule, we essentially paid extra for no hot tub access. Lesson learned for next time if that is our deciding factor, I suppose. Otherwise, I would recommend staying here for a weekend in Portland!

Pleasant and elegant hotel.

Liked: Valet parking was exceptionally helpful. Got us a luggage cart and helped us into the lobby on a wet and chilly night. Breakfast server was very friendly and attentive. Would stay here again.

Exceptional Hotel, Location & Staff

Liked: We were a group of family and friends in Portland for the weekend to attend my daughters PHD dissertation, the hotel was in a perfect location, easily accessible to all the attractions, restaurants, shopping, and history within the Old Port area most of which was walkable but where walking wasn't an option the Hotel offered 24/7 shuttle service to drop off or pick us up. Our double room was beautiful and spacious with comfortable bedding. The staff were EXCEPTIONAL always available with a kind word and smile to assist with any inquiries we made; even offering umbrellas as it rained most of the weekend. The Whiskey lounge was warm & comfortable for sipping on our morning coffee as much as for an evening of whiskey tasting. The onsite restaurant and Spa services were exceptional. Our stay at the Portland Regency was amazing! We look forward to returning soon!
