Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Lovely location but room should...

Liked: Location and greeting at Reception was excellent.
Disliked: The room (309) should not be used for any guests. Way too hot (radiator was not on) had too open the window at night to cool the room down. At 0630hrs the extractor fan for the kitchen clicked on and sounded horrendous and we felt vibrations in the room. The shower room is 5ft square and 6ft tall.

Wonderful staff

Liked: Excellent location, reception bar and restaurant all wonderful.Staff are excellent, lovely and helpful
Disliked: The rooms, decorated nicely but very small and dark.I don’t feel the rooms are accurately described.Ie sea view, but only if you stand on your tip toes and lean over the dressing table.Be very careful what room you are booking and getting.

Slightly disappointing but ok river...

Liked: The (small) view of the river was fine. Parking on the harbour front (use Parkonomy app) easy and flexible so no need to go to machine at 0800!
Disliked: Room was small, bathroom had an odour, breakfast was stingy and breakfast plates tiny, dried herbs on grilled tomatoes were off putting/dry/old, no bananas, coffee was terrible, staff were (with exceptions) terse and somehow not that helpful/interested. "Disco" at next door social club wasn't disruptive to us but might be to others.

Disappointing experience

Liked: Booked two nights for my friend 30th birthday. Paid extra for the rooms with the view. There was no view. One of the rooms looked towards the roof, the other faced the river, but no view as there was only a tiny window in the room. Booked a table for dinner, food was ok, but well too expensive for that portion size. I have asked the staff if they can add a little candle or just write ‘happy birthday’ on a dessert plate for my friend. They said yes but nothing happened. Very disappointed with the whole experience.
