Great stay at Port Lympne
Liked: The Garden Room restaurant was lovely. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the grounds were just fantastic.
Disliked: It's a very old hotel which is part of its enormous charm. It was clean - ish. But could have done with a modern bathroom. But the decor of the hotel reflecting the travels of the family was amazing.

Absolutely brilliant, we can't wait...
Liked: We stayed in the hotel which we found to be excellent accommodation.All the staff were helpful, quite approachable and all friendly and smiling, they made our stay a great experience and are all a credit to the your company. In this time of Covid-19 your staff made us feel quite relaxed while they followed all safety procedures with ease, truly amazing people.
Disliked: We could not fault anything

Liked: Room was great, very spacious & comfortable lovely looking room with fantastic views across Kent countryside. Breakfast was very nice, plenty of it & tasty & everybody here was very pleasant & polite. Oh yes the Animal park was fantastic!! Safari & buggy included !
Disliked: Nothing not to like, if being picky, restaurant Baby Dolls was okay, nothing special.

Amazing Hotel & Reserve. The...
Liked: 1) This was our second time at the Port Lympne Hotel and all I can say is WOW. 2) The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Keeping in mind the COVID restrictions, the hotel is very well prepared. I didn't face any issues in the room or when dining. Right from arranging our breakfast to offering more vegetarian options in the fine dining restaurant, the staff were just excellent.3) We booked the AAA safari, which lasted for about 2 .5 hours. We enjoyed it even more than last year. Our safari driver & keeper was very knowledgeable about the animals in the reserve. It was so nice to see how enthusiastic he was about sharing his knowledge. You can clearly tell that the staff are true animal lovers. They will not go to any extent to hurt or stress out the animals! This is the only place that does not make money through selfish means - and by that I mean torturing animals for human pleasure. 4) The property is set in a very scenic location! The rooms are super clean and spacious. The food is delicious, especially the mac & cheese & sticky toffee pudding at the Garden restaurant. I can't wait to come back next year!
Disliked: There is nothing that I can mention here. I absolutely loved our stay!

Liked: Facilities are superb, golf buggy hire was great and food was lovely.
Disliked: Breakfast could have opened earlier for those with small children (didn?t open until 8am) and bathroom was basic.

Dissapointed. Nice house and grounds,...
Liked: The gardens, zoo and setting was stunning. The room was situated in a fascinating beautiful house. The use of the golf buggy was great fun. The room and bathroom were clean.Bar and restaurant staff lovely.
Disliked: The room was disappointing. There was an obvious quick fix cheap broken shower in the bathroom. When you did have a shower the whole bathroom floor flooded because of the poor shower screen fixing. The hotel put our deposit for the golf buggy through as a sale, instead of a deposit. We are still chasing the money and they are still not giving it back, despite the error being on their side and it happening over 9 days ago. When we booked this hotel for our first wedding anniversary, the advert implied a different room to what we received. When we raised the complaint we were told that the error was with booking.com and not them, and advised us to ring booking.com. When we got through to booking.com they assured us it was the fault of the property. We then tried to speak with the customer services team at the hotel we got told someone would call us back the next day. This never happened. We have spent hours on phone (on hold) and leaving ignored voice mails. When we did get through we were promised call backs, which never happened. Finally, by the time the team had got back in contact with us - one week later- they had removed all the pictures of all the rooms on booking.com. They advised they "would never wish to mislead their guests about what they can expect and feel it would be imprudent for them not to act on your feedback". In my opinion the removal of the pictures is an admission that the original pictures and descriptions were misleading. They informed us that the misunderstanding was all our own fault and therefore would receive no compensation for the confusion or the way it has been handled. Be wary when booking stays at this accommodation, because if you have any issues the customer services is so difficult to get hold of, and the issue may be mishandled. We are still waiting for our deposit to be returned.

Our stay was pleasurable and...
Liked: The Green Room restaurant was lovely and the waitressing team were very obliging and friendly. The location and view from the room was stunning and the hotel interior was beautiful. Access to golf buggies was a great addition and a fun way to get around the park - we LOVED the safari!
Disliked: Unfortunately we had a few issues with our room, on arrival I found a nasty limescale stain in the bath from a leaking tap. I rung reception about this and they told me they would send someone ASAP, I had to wait half an hour until I called again and finally someone was sent. The issue was not sorted. Whilst I appreciate the building is old, leaking taps and stiff doors did spoil such a beautiful room / view. Members of staff I spoke to weren?t particularly helpful or informative - e.g not telling us about the complementary safari, wasn?t told where the restaurant we had a reservation was etc.. On check out nobody asked us if we enjoyed our stay.
