This was an off-season stay...

Liked: We stayed at the separate building from the main lodge. Location and access was excellent as was parking.Internet was very good in the hillside unit we used, separate from the main lodge builiding.Check-in management staff and cleaning staff were very courteous. This was a very good experience overall.
Disliked: Chairs & picnic table outside the front of the building at our unit was in need of repair. Muddy surrounding area made it more or less unusable for our stay, but that was only a minor inconvenience for us. Would sure like to have a coffee pot or machine in the unit or available onsite for guests.

It was a pleasant night...

Liked: I liked having a fridge, and it was a great location with lots of opportunities nearby to explore the outdoors. We reserved a room with 2 beds, but the place wasn’t busy and when they learned I had two kids with me they generously upgraded us to a room with 4 beds. We only used two anyway because my youngest child wouldn’t sleep alone in the unfamiliar environment, but it was a very nice gesture and my kids did think it was “luxurious” (their word) to have so many beds to choose from. LOL!
Disliked: I did wait almost 10 minutes at the front desk for someone to show. I called the number listed on the window, but no answer and full voicemail. I rang the bell (which says to only press ONCE and then wait, which I did, but felt like forever). I also called the number listed on Booking, but same result as the number on the window (probably just forwarded to the same number). Finally someone appeared and then checked me in and gave me a key with no mention of the delay at all.

A room with a bed...

Liked: This place served its purpose - an affordable room to stay in the night before the Great American Eclipse of 2024. It had 5 beds - very large room - we needed only 2. Great to have a full size fridge and microwave - though neither of these were included in the listing. The shower was in need of some repair - but it was only the curtain rod - the shower worked fine and there was plenty of hot water. Oddly there were helicopter/seed pods between all of the box springs/matresses. It was perfectly fine for what we needed: a comfortable place to stay. I read all of those bad reviews and was worried ahead of our trip. Perhaps, those people had an axe to grind or their expectations were just unjustifiably high - this is, after all, a pet-friendly MOTEL in a small fishing village in central NY State (not a luxury hotel in Manhattan). There were no bed-bugs, the heat worked, the TV worked - there weren't a ton of outlets for phone charging - but there was one and that was fine with us. Would I stay here a week? No, but we were so grateful to have a large, corner room with easy access on eclipse weekend. We were there for the Totality and made once-in-a-lifetime memories. That was plenty.

Poor

Optimal location for peace and...

Liked: Was looking for quiet motel, close to the river, with simple check in/out and internet/TV at an affordable price to rest up for a day of hard fishing. Fulfilled all my needs. This is my third stay with them.
Disliked: In the middle of minor construction but it did not affect my stay whatsoever (probably a bonus rather than a detriment as noise was never an issue).
