Set in a charming 16th-century coaching inn, Poolewe Hotel offers a warm, traditional atmosphere with modern comforts. Overlooking the stunning Loch Ewe and just steps from the famous Inverewe Botanical Gardens, this laid-back hotel is nestled in the heart of Wester Ross. With rustic interiors, local character, and panoramic views of the Scottish Highlands, it's a perfect base for music fans exploring the Inverness area.
If you're road-tripping for a Highland concert or festival, Poolewe Hotel provides a peaceful retreat after the show. While not in a major city center, it offers a quieter post-concert recovery space with minimal street noise and stunning nature all around. The HD TV in the bar, darts board, and pool table give you laid-back entertainment for the after-party, and there’s a selection of local ales and malt whiskies to toast the night.
Poolewe Hotel’s on-site restaurant serves up dishes made with local produce, perfect for pre- or post-show dining. The bistro and bar area is a cozy spot to unwind with a drink, and while there’s no mention of 24/7 room service, the hospitality is warm and accommodating. Breakfast is available—ideal for those slow mornings after a late night.
The hotel bar is a highlight, offering a range of local real ales and malt whiskies. While there’s no live music on-site, the communal vibe, games, and HD TV make it an inviting place for a nightcap. For more nightlife, you’ll need to venture into nearby villages or plan around local events and festivals.
Guests rave about the beautiful loch and mountain views, the friendly staff, and the authentic Highland feel. Many appreciate the quiet location for unwinding after busy days, and several reviews highlight the great food and drink options in the bar and restaurant.
The hotel is a bit of a journey from larger concert venues, so it’s best suited to those with a car or planning stays around regional music events. Rooms are comfortable but may feel a bit dated to those used to sleek, modern decor. Check-out is at 10:00 AM, a little early for late risers, but the scenery is worth getting up for.
Poolewe Hotel is a cozy, character-filled base for concert-goers looking to pair Highland music with natural beauty and traditional Scottish hospitality.

Liked: The staff were pleasant and the accommodation was fine
Disliked: The hotel was "tired" in terms of fixtures and fittings. The evening meal we had was over priced for what it was and the service was not great although the staff were pleasant- the staff lacked a level of "professionalism"e.g plates were left on the table when finished with and we had to chase up cutlery when it was not provided.
