Exceptional

Liked: The cottage was all cosy and lights on for arrival. The views where amazing and the location was secluded and quiet but still a close enough drive to enjoy facilities.

Very good

Liked: Lovely and peaceful.
Disliked: Nobody can be held responsible as it is nature, but the swarms of flies are hard to bare. Our dog was also uncomfortable with them.

I loved it and would...

Liked: quiet and beautiful surroundings. cottage had everything need for short break.
Disliked: the bed was super hard. I ended up on sofa for four nights and hubby crossed between bed and rocking chair. it would be the only thing stopping us from returning again and again. also a little fenced off area around house would be perfect to keep off lead dogs and public from coming into close space.

Lovely location, just needs some...

Liked: This is a cosy little cottage, the pond is wonderful for the dogs, and there are great little walks around the estate.
Disliked: I would have loved for there to be fencing around the property so that we could let the dogs out, and so it was a little more private, the cottage was right at the road and so lots of people walked past, or used the pond- which is fine but we felt we never had any private ground. Also we ordered near £60 of food when we arrived, baring in mind it a 4pm check in- All 4 pies we ordered went out of date the day we arrived which was really disappointing as they were meant for lunch the following day, so these went in the bin and was a waste of money!

Would never book again

Liked: Location is perfect if you want to be remote
Disliked: Property was filthy and had not been cleaned between guests, no sanitisation with respect to covid. Large amount of mould present in bedroom, in bathroom and lounge, lots of dust and hair from previous guests. Property owner rude and aggressive.

Wish we had found this...

Liked: We arrived a little earlier than expected and the lovely lady in the gift shop made enquiries as to whether our cottage might be available, she then produced the key to the cottage and directed us to where we were staying, wishing us an enjoyable stay, we were thrilled as we had travelled from York. The drive to the cottage took our breathe away, beautiful woodland and so peaceful! On arrival at the cottage we couldn't believe how gorgeous it was, and we just knew we had made the right choice! The most homely little cottage that felt so welcoming, with everything you could need. We loved how the furnishings were in complete harmony with the interior of the house, the open fire, little rocking chair..so characterful! The bed was so comfortable, and I was glad of the two pillows which made for a very good night's sleep.Garden seating was provided which we made good use of, sitting outside until late in to the evening, and rising very early to enjoy the birdsong and also spot various wildlife, while enjoying a morning cup of tea. Bliss!!There are numerous pathways to explore around the estate, each with something unique to discover. We enjoyed eating at the estate's Bistro which is within walking distance of the cottage, it serves delicious, freshly home produced fayre, with seating either indoors or in the courtyard, which is delightful with the pretty flower pots dotted around the seating area. Our week at this cottage was the most relaxing holiday we have had, and we were sad to leave. Although wifi is provided, we preferred the natural habitat outdoors for our leisure time. Even the television stayed off!We will definitely be returning to this little gem of a cottage.
Disliked: There was some ongoing maintenance occurring directly outside the cottage to do with telegraph poles, where the men arrived quite late in the evening and didn't leave until late, but they were as unobtrusive as possible and were very nice.(We preferred them to the dogwalkers who allowed their dogs to run freely around the cottage (and tear open the rubbish bag to leave the contents scattered!!)
