Understaffed and terrible service

Disliked: Breakfast took 90 mins, then turned up cold and horrible. No spa available.

Liked: Location is fantastic and it’s a really lovely interesting building steeped in history. Good food and service - great sea views & coastal path access.
Disliked: The glass conservatory area has great views but is like a greenhouse when it’s sunny and none of the staff knew how to open windows which was very strange!The spa area is in major need of renovation and has a ridiculous booking system for the pool where only 1 person or family bubble can book at a time and you can’t prebook but have to do it at 7am on same day. The pool is easily big enough for more people and the ‘covid bubble’ rules are out of date and unnecessary. Bar & restaurant staff are quite helpful but reception staff are hit & miss, there was nobody there when we checked out and we had to settle our bill after we left by phone and email.
