Great hotel

Liked: Loved the location, restaurant was good.Very clean hotel and staff Very friendly.
Disliked: The pillows were hard as a rock. I had to use a sweatshirt as my pillow.Also the valet is 60.00 a night,which we went around the corner for 28.00 a night.And I didn't care for the $25.00 a day hotel fee they make you pay.

Great Staff, Great Room, but...

Liked: Breakfast was great, staff was great. Breakfast service was excellent.
Disliked: Have stayed at this this Marriott location many times over the last three decades. My parents retired in San Antonioand I would visit often in their later years. Having once lived in Latin America loved the tranquility of the hotel ,the former garden area and its location near restaurants and the riverwalk . Had not been in San Antonio in about 6 years because of COVID and family health issues. The primary disappointment was the constant DISCO music blasting from the pool area all day with a DJ, the reduced size of the Garden Area and views from the restaurant. Am 76 years old not into the new vibe!

Liked: Lots of little perks- welcome cocktails, discounts etcNice location and beautiful tropical pool
Disliked: We specifically checked on time kitchen closed as we were in town for a concert … Arriving back we were told they were closed ( an hour early) but after we ordered drinks Within a few minutes about 12 other patrons arrived also expecting food…we ended up ordering uber eats but then were told we couldnt sit in the bar …. All could have been avoided with a bit of flexibility as this was a big concert !!

Liked: Cleanliness, courtesy and helpfulness of staff. Location to River Walk venue was a very easy walk.
Disliked: Pool was not refreshing, very warm and cloudy. Also a lot of pests.

Liked: Loved the facility, the restaurants and bars, and the luxuriously homey scent that faintly covers the air. The bathroom had a dual shower head, which is always a huge plus. For me, the shower and sleep experience are the most important aspects of any hotel stay, and while they almost earned a 10/10, neither me nor my girlfriend found the bed very comfortable. One night of bad sleep and one night of okay sleep. The AC is excellent, the decor is timeless, and the layout is nearly perfect. It's just the lack of comfort in the bed that deducted any points. If you're not a picky sleeper, this may be a perfect 10 for you.The staff, on the other hand, felt people who truly love and care about what they do. They made me feel right at home. You know that feeling you get when you go to a restaurant you're a regular at? You know the staff, the owner, and it feels like you belong there. They staff here gave me that feeling on the first meeting, which is a different feat to pull off.
