Lovely hotel, lovely atmosphere. Service...

Liked: The accommodation is beautiful and clean and in a really good central location. Also the reception staff are great, and the cocktails absolutely delicious. But we did have a mixed experience with service considering the cost.
Disliked: We were there in a Thursday and so this was the Jazz night at the hotel which should have been lovely. We actually sat in some empty seats outside and were very abruptly told to move and that we could be indoors only as everything outside was reserved. Which is fine. However, later on we saw others with no reservations sitting in these seats and saw thay the waitress was putting all hotel guests and tourists indoors. We also heard her asking others in Spanish of they had a reservation, and on them saying now- her seeing if she could accommodate. We had a wonderful experience with all other staff. But actually this really didn't sit well with me. Also the receptionist had asked us for dietary requirements prior to arrival. We weren't once actively asked these at breakfast and it was only when I'd seen (2 days in) if they had gluten free bread. (Through seeing via someone else having) That these accomodations were made. For the cost and atmosphere I think we've stayed at some hotels similar with much better service overall.

Quiet and modern hotel in...

Liked: The location is nice, in a typical Sevillian building, re-modeled and modern. The breakfast was very good and the staff very friendly. The in-house coffee shop was top notch, cleaning ladies very nice.
Disliked: surprisingly the mattresses seemed worn out and uneven. I think they should have them replaced to keep the level with the rest of the hotel amenities. we stayed in room 13.

Disappointing and shocked

Disliked: Booked fours nights stay and we’re only able to stay for three nights due to a sudden death in the family.. When we approached the hotel manager to explain the situation and the possible reimbursement of the fourth night. We were met with a point blank refusal quoting he had “a business to run”.. We were shocked and horrified of the lack of compassion under such circumstances and this further traumatised us.. The death was reported arrival and at no point during or stay was it acknowledged or any advice given.

Liked: Absolutely loved the hotel. It is beautiful, staff are wonderful- gave us some great advice about where to go and what to see with a map- thanks so much! Breakfast was delicious- good array of options and omelette was lovely. We had cocktails a couple of times and they were excellent too. Overall such a warm and welcoming stay in such a calm, beautiful place in a great location for exploring the city. If I were a solo traveller I would also feel very safe staying here.
