Good location, but too noisy.
Liked: The room was nice, looked like it was recently renovated. The bed was comfortable. It was good that we good just to go down to the hotel for dinner each night after visiting our friend in the nursing home. The food was nice, but not exceptional.
Disliked: I would have rated this place a lot higher, but it was very noisy in our room, especially from the traffic noise starting very early in the morning, before the sun came up, inevitably waking us up at about 5am. No double glazed windows, no escaping the noise. On the first night there was a storm, and very loud screeching noises outside, which we asked them to invest it they couldn’t find the cause. But also very morning, so loud from the road outside, the emptying of the bins so early. Also, if you are not good with stairs (I live with heart failure), there are no lifts to the rooms, I think 23 stairs I counted between frequent stops to catch my breath.

It's a pub.
Liked: Quiet room, newly renovated/freshly painted.. Great shower! But the best thing is the licensee Steph who epitomises hospitality in everything she does. She has a great personality and great service from her - super friendly!
Disliked: When one of the locals heard I had booked in at Pippies they said "gawd, you're brave!" I didn't understand why... But it's because it's pub accommodation. The room cleaners came around at 9.55am, and did not make the bed our whole stay. They dropped off towels but did not take out the rubbish. There is no late check out option. The ironing board is not a full ironing board. It's one of those bench top ones. No toaster in the room and a super small fridge - so not the best for more than 1 night.
