Superb

Liked: Excellent dinner. Good location.
Disliked: The room was very comfortable but our sleep was badly disturbed by the all night blue lighting at the front of the hotel. As the curtains were on a pole and therefore standing away from the wall, the outside light shone brightly through onto the bedroom ceiling. We tried to telephone reception at about 11pm to ask for the lights to be dimmed or turned off but could get no response.

LADY MONTAGUE'S MASTER SUITE

Liked: I was upgraded to the MASTER SUITE which was the size off a football pitch! It exhausted me getting to my bed ha! The staff were most courteous. Excellent service.
Disliked: I won't say.

Liked: Loved the hotel
Disliked: The evening meal which was pre booked was an absolute disaster The food was totally bland and se bad we didn’t even take desert and my partner didn’t take a starter either - The steak was average and the sauce spoilt the taste of the meat - Served with Potatoes only that were very badly cooked - The lady eating next to us was alone and had different courses and was equally disappointed - It was my birthday so made it even more disappointing

Liked: Nice homely hotel with character which hopefully won’t be lost under the new management. I have been to Pine Trees about 4 or 5 times over very many years.
Disliked: Breakfast on the second morning was busy and I was told you were short staffed. Perhaps not the best thing to be saying to a paying guest? I had a long wait to order. I was told on enquiring that I could have porridge without the whisky but it came with the whisky so it was sent back. My poached egg then arrived without the bacon I ordered but with baked beans which I didn’t order. I think, when someone orders only a few items from the cooked selection available, it would be good practice to provide more of what they had ordered, ie not just one rasher of bacon and one tiny tatty scone.

Great hotel!

Liked: The hotel is amazing! The staff are pleasant, the room was big and had great view and was very cosy!! The location is great, we even had deer visitors :). The bathroom is great as well as the tub
Disliked: Everything was top notch except I'd prefer big matress instead 2 smaller ones together in one bed frame.

Liked: Location was perfect. Not a vehicle to be heard. Relaxing and peaceful. Breakfast was perfect. Good quality produce.

Restful, but the food and...

Liked: The hotel was pleasant, nicely old fashioned and cosy. The grounds are rather lovely, too. Staff very helpful and friendly, especially the young waitress at breakfast.
Disliked: The selection of beers at the bar was utterly abysmal: as regards bottled beers they offered Budweiser, Corona and Peroni, plus some alcohol free options. Scotland has some great craft brewers, show some imagination and stock a few of their offerings.
