Great hotel, value for money...

Liked: Hotel is located within walking distance of the centre of Brussels and Brussel-Centraal Station.Rooms a good size and quite, however, what sets this hotel apart is the comfort of the bed (mattress which has a has a thick foam topper and pillows are super-comfortable.)Initial greeting on arrival was OK. Maria is the staff member that I would rate highest in terms of service with a smile.
Disliked: Front desk service could be improved. Check in was quick but greeting was 'ordinary'. This hotel is a superior establishment but, in my opinion, the professionalism. of the staff does not match the quality of the hotel.

Liked: Very comfortable great bed and extremely clean. Nice toiletries etc. Good location for accessing the old town area and around the cathedral. Close to Central station.
Disliked: Staff were a little unneccesarily aggressive. It was like they were immediately on the offensive instead of listening. They tried to charge my card to cover if the mini bar was used when we checked in. It was the same card I had already paid for the room for but it didn't go through. My bank blocked it as suspicious and he just kept shouting YOUR CARD IS DECLINED. Didn't offer an alternative until I asked for one so it was easily remedied by paying 60euros by cash or card. I don't know if they have a lot of issues with this kind of thing but the people in front of us were having the same argument over whether they had pre paid or not and the same guy was being quite rude to them. The interaction tainted what would have otherwise been an excellent experience.
