Great location.

Liked: Staff were very helpful.
Disliked: Room was small as advertised but also dingy. Carpet grubby. For the price it’s a bit tired.

Comfy clean but too short...

Liked: We missed breakfast as we had to get out taxi for 4.20 a.m. Betty the receptionist is very friendly and well capable. If I come back I will most certainly stay there again. Denise

lovely Canterbury

Liked: For me it was a great place to stay for a few days. It checked all my requirements: clean and welcoming room with its own bathroom, hot water (really important for me :)) ), quiet atmosphere (great for a good night rest), considerate staff (patient, smiling all the time, communicative and they recommended a great place to eat dinner), near by the city center, good WiFi.
Disliked: For me these weren't a problem, but maybe it may concern others - the room is really small, so if you prefer hotels with spacious rooms this is not the place for you. Also the window is really small, so there is not too much natural light in the room. The breakfast is not too rich, doesn't have many options, however there are many places near the hotel where you can grab a good coffee and a sandwich or a muffin on the go.

Excellent location, helpful staff, but...

Liked: Friendly, efficient staff. Helpful over parking arrangements. Understanding when I wanted to change my room.
Disliked: First room I was offered really a box room - too small even for one! Hotel in general a bit run down, eg the bathroom and stairs up to rooms. Breakfast simple, and no cooked food..

Liked: Although it was continental breakfast there was plenty of choice.
Disliked: I was unable to use the shower as I was on the top floor and the bathroom had a sloping ceiling. Perhaps I should have specified I needed a shower rather than a bath.

Excellent small hotel in prime...

Liked: We are return visitors to Pilgrims and if anything the facilities were better than before. Very few staff but an excellent standard if service.

Liked: convenient and clean, very quiet
Disliked: bedside light didn’t work and as I was late in no chance to have it fixed

The price is great, but...

Liked: The location is great for visiting Canterbury. The staff were friendly, and luggage storage was available.
Disliked: The bathroom was ridiculously small, almost no space around the toilet which made it unusable. The window didn’t shut properly, and it was quite a windy night so the loft hatch in my room was noisily banging. The bed had a very old spring mattress that was hard and the springs could be felt through. The breakfast was a poor quality continental breakfast.
