Pilgrim Hotel

So much potential but in...

Liked: The room we were eventually moved to was lovely. However, this this incurred an additional charge. The hotel has amazing views, The garden room would benefit from a hot tub to take advantage of the beautiful outlook. The food was very nice.
Disliked: The original room we were allocated was not the room i had booked. Not only this, the room was very outdated and in need of refurbishment, especially the bathroom, which was in great need of being updated. We were told that the hotel was gradually being updated, but this is very misleading when you read about the hotel, especially on its own website This was a surprise for my wifes birthday and was unfortunately very disappointing.

Great location and excellent staff.

Liked: The staff went out of their way to be helpful particularly Hannah on reception, Sarah in the restaurant and Nathan in the bar.
Disliked: Really nothing to dislike

Could do with a bit...

Liked: Perfect position for the wedding that we attended. The bedroom was clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. The receptionist was extremely helpful and even managed to let us have an early check in, which was helpful.
Disliked: We were in room 3 on the ground floor. The light coming through the glass fanlight above the door was really annoying, making the room not dark. The tap in the bath wouldn't stop dripping which made a very loud water hammer noise. The walls are pretty thin so you can hear other people quite well

Liked: Beautiful location, original features (particularly the water pump!).
Disliked: Decor in bedroom and mould around the bath. Could have had a better selection for the buffet breakfast e.g. croissants, pastries, muffins etc.
