Superb location for golfing trip...

Liked: Wonderful old building. Very nice breakfast, fresh pastries, non greasy cooked breakfast. Larger twin room than I was expecting. Beautiful grounds. Very reasonably priced and ideal location for Woodhall Spa golf club.

Impressive location and good value

Liked: spacious room and impressive grounds
Disliked: breakfast a little underwhelming and smoked bacon is certainly not to everyone's taste, especially when served on eggs benedict rather than the correct ham, this is purely cost cutting taken a little too far

A friendly welcome and excellent...

Liked: Our room was very clean, with a comfortable bed and lovely bed linen and fluffy white towels. We had a peaceful stay and the bar meal was superb. Excellent!

Liked: The lovely staff are so helpful. From the check in lady to the breakfast staff. The 2 girls running the bar on Monday and Tuesday evening were particularly brilliant one was Australian and they both were doing a fantastic job.
Disliked: We did have to wait quite a long time for some deserts to be served to the terrace on Tues evening but it was a busy evening for the hotel.

Liked the room and view...

Liked: A very nice room , we upgraded from an executive double, at a cost , to a room with a four poster bed...the view from the bedroom was magnificent, decent shower.however there was a lack of drawer space ,the weather was very warm and a fridge would have been appreciated for cool drinks, there was a fan though which helped slightly. Summer bedding would have been appreciated..Breakfast was excellent on both days. we had dinner both evenings in the restaurant. The first night we had 2 starters each rather than a main course, The waitress was excellent and the food acceptable although 2 small scallops is somewhat stingy...second day we were stuck in the lift for 10 minutes and apparently the alarm in the lift cannot be heard outside the lift!..we managed eventually to get out..The evening meal was a disaster..I ordered a £50 bottle of Chablis which I had to reject because it was "off"..replaced it with a New Zealand sauvignon Blanc..We both ordered Rack of lamb which was actually 2 small lamb cutlets..very poor with just one dauphine potato on the plate with a few small carrots, very poor value for money
Disliked: See above
