Disappointing stay

Liked: We were moved from Petit Palace Plaza to Petit Palace Plaza Mayor, supposedly due to renovations. However, we later passed by the original hotel and saw it was open and operating normally, which left us feeling misled.There were a few positives: the check-in was smooth, the location is great – close to many attractions – and we appreciated the welcome gesture with two bottles of water, a postcard of Madrid, and two chocolates in the room.Unfortunately, the rest of the stay didn’t meet expectations for a 4-star hotel. The lobby looked outdated and in need of renovation. Our room faced an internal corridor and had a gap under the door that let in light all night. We could hear everything from nearby rooms. The minibar didn’t cool properly. Wallpaper was dirty and wrinkled, and under the bed was clearly not clean.The bathroom design was also poor – the shower flooded the entire floor. The bathroom door was only partially frosted, with just a strip of film to block the view, which was uncomfortable.One elevator was broken, and the other was extremely slow to close its doors.Overall, this felt like a downgrade rather than an upgrade. The hotel does not match the comfort and quality expected of a 4-star property.

Don’t choose this Company

Liked: We have booked this hotel and paid more than one month in advance. But just few days before our arrival, we received e-mail from the hotel that they transferred us to another facility (Petit Palace Postada del Pleine) hotel which belong to the same company. They said that the original hotel would be closed temporarily 1st of April for complete renovation. Of course no body can believe that. Renovation of a hotel cannot be planed in just a few days!So, we haven’t stay in Petit Palace Plaza España.The hotel that we stayed in is very old without isolation, and therefore was a lot of noise coming from outside. The only thing which was positive was its location in the heart of Madrid.
