It was a nice getaway, but will not go back.

Liked: We liked the location and the free activities.
Disliked: We stayed in a court room and the room was filled with bugs. Also, the air conditioner was turned off during our stay.

Horrible stay

Liked: The resort did not meet our expectations. The first thing I did not like was that before even booking I called the place and asked about the facilities (sauna, restaurant, bar, tennis courts, etc). Because it's Covid times I thought these might be closed. They told me EVERYTHING was open. However, the first thing we learned when we got there was that both the restaurant and the bar were closed and that for instance they had not even renovated the liquor license this summer because of Covid. Then there was the room. Unfortunately, the pictures of the room did not match the reality. Coincidentally, room 16 that is the one we got is not the one they advertise. The room was very much exposed. There were two huge windows which offered little to no privacy. There were no table, plates, silverware or anything cooking related although they said we would have a barbeque. Also, if you are going to book make sure you notice the distinction between the rooms with balcony (fully equipped) and the Annex (what we got, which has a shared balcony). The annex is far less charming to say the least. While we understand they value the quilts they put in the rooms, I must say they are extremely old. Like anything that is old it smells and had stains (I attach pictures) which doesn't mean it's dirty, but it is not what we paid for when we paid for a "resort". The toilet seat was broken. We did not have chairs, so when we cooked something on the grill we had to pull out chairs and table from the shared areas in our building (shared areas: the balcony they said we would have but was in fact always occupied during our stay). They also advertise sauna and spaces to have bonfires. About the sauna: the outside one wasn't working and my husband found hazardous wires exposed, other guests saw us trying to go in and told us that it wasn't working.
Disliked: We obviously talked to the staff and honestly they are the only ones who deserve a good review because they did their best and understood our situation. Now, the last straw came regarding the spaces to have bonfires. They are placed all across the road that is by the resort's premises. The ones that were nearer to us were never available. Of course, us being just two people it was harder for us to save a space for long and bigger families took over quickly. So we decided to go to the ones that were further away without knowing that they belonged to private rooms which had private dock and bonfire. We were approached by seven men who very aggressively told me and my husband to leave. Had we known we couldn't use those this wouldn't have happened. There were no signs demarcating this and also no time limits for shared spaces (which I think it would only be fair given we all pay the same money). So, we decided to end our stay before we planned since our 1 month anniversary was slightly tainted after that. The woman who spoke to me from the staff was very understanding. I told her that in many ways their booking description qualified as false advertising. This is why I decided to write this detailed review so people can have a clearer idea of what they might get. (I now see that they don't allow me to post pictures)

Great location on Lake Minnewaska for relaxing family weekend

Liked: Great location on the lake and plenty of activities: swimming area, kayak and paddleboard rentals, golf, tennis, and basketball. Two-room suite in the lodge slept 5 comfortably.
Disliked: Minimal room services due to pandemic. Couldn't keep multiple rooms at comfortable temperature.
