My stay in this hotel...

Liked: This hotel just had a nice feel about it. A little unusual and a little quirky. I just stayed in a small double room but it was very well designed and didn’t feel small at all and had everything I needed including a decent sized work desk. The ensuite was good too. I loved the Japanese style sliding entry doors and the huge shower. All the staff I encountered during my stay were super helpful and friendly. La Biccicletta, the Italian restaurant on site served pretty decent Italian food too!!
Disliked: I wasn’t mad about the colour choice of the bedroom doors. I would get rid of the fluorescent green colour completely. It cheapens the look. I did like a splash of colour against the black, white and grey of the walls and carpet but I would go for a more ‘elegant’ colour choice. Perhaps a very dark red or wine colour. Something classier.

Beautiful place and special but...

Liked: It seems to be a beautiful and arty place converted from a historical site.
Disliked: All windows are blocked off and not operable. The room smelled mouldy and quite bad that I have to request for a change.

Superb

Liked: The hotel is very well situated for visiting the local places of interest. Less than 10 minutes drive from the National Museum, The National Memorial, Parliament House and the Botanical Gardens. All the staff were excellent and the room facilities well above average. This was my 2nd stay & would be my first choice for future visits.
Disliked: Can't think of anything.

Great location, quiet and walking...

Liked: Great location, quiet and walking distance to galleries. Rooms were clean and comfortable. There is a great restaurant on site.
Disliked: Some furniture in the room is a bit tired and could do with replacing.

Pleasant

Liked: Our room was a good size and had natural light
Disliked: No rails to hang damp towels on.The bed was very soft and springy, so very noticeable when one's partner moved. There was a big mix-up with our bill. The staff member was very polite and refunded the erroneous charges ( over $500). However, it delayed us by half an hour. No recompense was offered.

Unique

Liked: Unique heritage property. Great location near the City, Lake Burley Griffin, Nishi Building, and some great restaurants and bars, especially Parlour and High Jinks.
Disliked: Had to ask to change rooms due the odour of the first option. The second room was an upgrade but there were many indicators that suggest the property has not had any proper maintenance to furnishings or decor since the hotel was established. We’ve stayed here multiple times over the years and it seems a little bit like dejavu discovering the same things worn out as what we discovered the previous time. The disappointing thing is when the staff try to tell you it only just wore out yesterday.
