Very good stay, staff is...
Liked: Room was spacious, clean and as expected, although I wish there was a USB charging socket. The friendliness and problem solutions from the staff was outstanding. Very happy with the night crew especially!
Disliked: A room with the door connecting to another room - can hear everything happening next door.

Penta has a good atmosphere
Liked: Staff and atmosphere is great. Lobby & lounge areas are lovely. I asked to move rooms to a cleaner one and was accommodated immediately.
Disliked: Had to ask to move rooms. Paid £200 and the room which was dark, dingy & looked like it hadn't been cleaned. The bathroom was dirty, glasses & cups full of dust, furniture and skirtings chipped & damages and looked un-maintained.

Disappointing
Liked: There is on street parking outside the hotel, free from 8pm - 8am. Q-park is a couple of minutes walk away. To get the 40% discount you need to prebook and enter Penta40 in the discount code field.The hotel is clean, there is a nice bar area with pool table etc. The room was very hot, but to be fair it was 34C outside.There was a £20 charge (per stay, not per night) for our dog. On arrival we were given a pet kit (a carton of treats, couple of poo bags and a chew toy) for him - a lovely touch.
Disliked: The first room allocated had not been cleaned! There was ash in the sink and toilet paper on the floor.The second room allocated had been cleaned, but for some reason, rather than sheets being tucked in around the mattresses (twin beds) they had been laid folded across the top of the mattresses, so that they hung slightly over the end of the top of the mattress, but did not cover the mattress protector! Housekeeping provided clean sheets so that I could make the beds!On our 2nd day I returned from meetings very hot and requested a clean towel so that I could have a shower. I was told housekeeping would bring one to the room. After 20 mins I called reception to ask if I could collect. Was told it was on it's way. After 40 mins I called againg - same message. After an hour I went to reception in person again to request a towel!! The lady on reception was very apologetic and went to collect some towels for me and brought them to the front desk. She dealt with the problem and I am very grateful for that, but having to wait for an hour and to keep chasing for something as basic as a towel really is poor.We have stayed at the Penta in Rostock many times and always had an excellent experience, that is why I booked this hotel. This experience was awful and I would not stay at Penta Reading again.
