Horrible & unhygienic

Disliked: My bedsheets had blood on them, my toilet had wee in it with tissue, there was rubbish already in the bin in a white bag & there was used coffee/tea in the two cups on the table. There were people screaming all night till early hours & the TV kept shutting off on its own which we were using to drown out the sound of the shouting from outside.

Good location but uncomfortable and...

Liked: Nice location
Disliked: The bed was uncomfortable as it had a broken lumpy mattress. For our first evening, hen staff eventually turned up to serve us at the bar after five minutes, we were told many of the light bites were no longer available. For our second evening, we were greeted with a sign saying we couldn’t use the bar or order any food due to the hotel catering for a wedding which we were not told about when we booked. We will not be staying there again

A comfortable stay with really...

Liked: The young woman who checked me in couldn't have been more helpful. She had to break the news to me that the kitchen was closed so I couldn't have the dinner that was part of my booking. She offered either a cold sandwich from their kitchen or a takeaway. As I'd expected a hot meal, I chose the takeaway and she ordered that for me and brought it to me at the bar table when it arrived. She was very accommodating. She also carried my bag upstairs as there was no lift and I'm disabled at the moment. The following morning a male member of staff helped me with my bags to the car, so the staff were great overall. My room was comfortable and decorated in a contemporary way. The bathroom was quite new and also very contemporary. The view from the restaurant at breakfast time was beautiful and a pleasure to enjoy while you're eating.
Disliked: My room deal involved the inclusion of dinner and an upgrade to a room with a bath. However, the kitchen was closed as it was Sunday evening and there was no bath, just a shower. I had been looking forward to a bath, so this was disappointing. A good effort was made to provide me with hot food. However, they probably should have warned me about dinner not being available ahead of my stay. The public rooms are a bit dated, with old fashioned, heavy dark wood furniture and could do with a bit of a make over. The continental breakfast was a bit sparse. Just croissants, not the pastries advertised and not much fruit.

Very disappointed

Liked: We have stayed multiple times as we love the location the property is homely and staff are nice
Disliked: Wasn’t the property it was the situation and how it was resolved. There was a wedding going on and there was no staff around to help. I had to go through the wedding to find a member of staff where I received dirty looks from the wedding guests. The wedding guests were throwing glasses near the cars I was worried for what state my car was going to get into, they then were trying to get into our room by trying the door handles and kicking the doors. The staff had no clue on what to do. The main bar was closed for the wedding even though they already had their private bar/ room so we were left with not being able to have food or enjoy a drink. We were literally stuck in our room or having to go elsewhere which wasn’t close. The wedding took over the whole property.I felt so comfortable so they moved us to their sister property in Halifax past 10pm which was just as bad. As there was a massive party with music that loud it was shaking the beds and shaking the glass shower panel. You should be make other guests aware when booking that there is a wedding on so book at your own risk. As we were it made us feel so uncomfortable and that the staff only cared about the wedding. This is such a shame because of how this was handled and we were made to feel I never want to stay again.
