Liked: Generally we liked the decor and location. Bit disappointing to discover the shower was a step in bath, bit of a struggle.
Disliked: We don't complain but the glasses with the wine did not look too clean.

Liked: large room and wifi very strong, good value
Disliked: all very dated and the most gloomy décor of any hotel I have ever stayed in, man on reception when I check in was not very pleasant, plus they have a stupid system that was not made clear when I booked that I had to give a £100 cash deposit on arrival, which was nonsense as on check out they gave it me back never even checking to see if I had trashed my room, so it was all so pointless. I would have used the restaurant and had breakfast if the man on reception was more agreeable but they lost one customer and i will never return

Liked: All I needed was a comfortable room and bed, with a TV and coffee-making facilities and a good shower for the morning. Room and bed were comfortable; TV and kettle etc were fine. I wanted to minimise contact with others because of COVID-19; the location and relatively few other guests made this easy to achieve.
Disliked: I would have preferred a dedicated shower cubicle rather than a shower over the bath, but that was a very minor point.

Very tired...the hotel and the...

Liked: Not a lot, although it has a lovely location
Disliked: The room was very tired with old decrepit furniture, threadbare carpet and generally a bit whiffy! The room was not particularly clean either and the bar area was again very old and well used to the point I decided I would rather eat somewhere else. I won?t be going again
