Superb

Liked: I immediately arrived and was told that Booking.com had not passed my reservation in to the new owners (don't know if that's true and I probably won't get this posted now anyway). The owners couldn't be more accommodating and found me what I assume was probably the best room in the hotel. The evening meal was good and the breakfast very good. The facilities in my room were very good but I didn't know what a more standard room would be like? It is quite a lively place and it's where all the youngest hang out on a weekend. They regularly have live music too.
Disliked: The stress caused by the Booking situation. Look

Disliked: BOOKING DIOT COM TELLING NEW OWNERS ABOUT BOOKINGS SO THEY DIDNT OVERBOOK, I WANT MY MONEY BACK AND COMPENSATION FOR HOURS FINDIND SEVERAL ROOMS IN A SMALL VILAGE WITH A LARGE WEDING THERE!

Exceptional

Liked: The staff were great and extremely friendly. Could not have helped anymore and facilitated myself and my family a table each night with great hospitality.I would recommend and i will be going back.The food was also lovely.
Disliked: I can't fault anything.

Very good

Expectations more than met!

Liked: The staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was huge and warm and the bed very comfy. It's handy having a bar on site for a pint or two after a big walk before retiring upstairs for a wash and brush up. Also handy for a nightcap. The hotel is in the middle of the village and is handily placed for easy access to the fells. If we stay in Kirkby Stephen again, we will stay here.
Disliked: Nothing

Great location and comfy bed!

Liked: Lovely big room with comfy bed and good facilities.
Disliked: Bathroom is a bit worn in places- but doesn’t distract from the excellent value for money.

Liked: Great large clean room.Friendly staff, but then again it is the north so goes without saying.Location, right in the centre of town

Great value, great food, friendly...

Liked: Great food, great staff, very comfy bed. Nice and clean throughout.
Disliked: Just a bit tired in places such as the carpet and stairs. A bit noisy from the bar below our room. But all was quiet from 11 onwards
