Superb
Liked: What a wonderful, quirky hotel with lovely staff, gorgeous rooms and fabulous peacocks. We loved the calm environment and history of Pendley Manor. The pool area was super relaxing. The food was lovely and we felt very well looked after.

Very good
Liked: The decor of the hotel was really nice with all the Christmas decorations and the oak staircase and fireplace. The peacocks were a delight to watch out in the lawn.
Disliked: We came here for the facilities and we were surprised to find that the swimming pool was closed, the steam room and the sauna were very small and not relaxing. And I think you should have an automatic shower.

Would not return! Overpriced..disappointing.. forward...
Liked: It was beautiful & peaceful.
Disliked: No handrails at main entrance, steep steps,no ramp in most cases.Same Shakespeare Bar.Room a fair distance from dining rooms..bars..(46) we had asked for as near as possible.Bathroom shelf & sink not fit for purpose, far too low.shelf was dangerous.Room amenities..bed too high. Also, whilst it had been made clear I’m gluten free,no GFree provided in room.No information pack in room.Swimming pool..no towels, signage poor.Too shallow.Restaurant.No GFree sausages which had been requested in November..wife was told No GFree cereals but THERE WERE PACKS OF CORN FLAKES.It was observed on our last day that a waiter was “ rearranging “ bacon.then touched the sausages with the same tongs..CROSS CONTAMINATION.. husband was ill after our first breakfast, subsequently asked for food to be handed to him on a plate direct from the kitchen. We had dinner every evening whilst the staff were very attentive and throughout the hotel they were very pleasant we enjoyed our meals on day two and three but the first night we both ordered filet mignon one of us didn’t want chips wanted steamed vegetables for which I was going to be charged 4.50.Afternoon tea , I had pre-ordered this in advance. My order wasn’t difficult. I wanted one complete gluten-free afternoon tea the second afternoon tea I wanted sandwiches gluten-free and the sweet things ordinary as my husband like sandwiches and I don’t,this seem to cause great difficulty… we had also requested no salmon sandwiches but they were given to us the replacement of the salmon sandwiches was inedible cheese and tomato …still frozen .. I can take a photocopy of it and screenshot it but the previous night I had spoken to the Duty Manager and she had read that exactly what I had ordered.. I think for £80 it wasn’t very good, very expensive compared to other hotels nearby who also offer refills of sandwiches and cakes which you didn’t offer.

A lovely weekend break
Liked: Such a beautiful building and groundsThe peacocks are lovely Lovely swimming pool and steam room, The staff were exceptionally good and the food in The Oak was outstanding.
Disliked: I feel that better signage around the hotel is needed, as well as some better information regarding use of the pool, where to get towels etc.
