Overall, our stay was good...

Liked: Comfortable. Good room services
Disliked: Even though I had a free child space I was hugely disappointed that a bed was not provided in our room for our 12 year old daughter. I found this to be hugely non-customer friendly and when I asked for a bed was told I would be charged. This has left me questioning whether I would visit the Parmelia again. I also felt the gym has very limited equipment and needs an upgrade. Lastly, the digital key card was very hit and miss and I often found myself stuck in the lift moving between floors called by other guests because the digital card would not register in the lift. This also happened at my hotel door with several frustrating attempts before getting in.

Exceptional

Great family stay, love the...

Liked: We love the Parmelia Hilton and stay regularly. Easy location, friendly staff and very clean always.Beds and pillows are ridiculously comfortable
Disliked: The shower is pretty average, not enough flow/pressure. This is the only negative for me.

Recommended for an overnight stay

Liked: Arrived late at night so 24 hour reception was essential. Staff were friendly and efficient. Room was comfortable and clean. TV easy to use with a good spread of Australian channels. They looked after my suitcase after check out so that I could walk around a bit.
Disliked: In room dining was available but none of the meal options were. Messaged to ask why. After 45 minutes with no response closed the chat. 10 minutes later the phone rang and Sandwich and coffee were ordered. After 24 hours travelling could do without the stress!

Great location , Friendly Staff

Liked: Stayed at the Parmelia for 3 nights the staff were very friendly, the full breakfast amazing and great location , easy walking distance to restaurants, cafes and Elizabeth quay .

Happy but TV hopeless

Liked: Service, staff, location, parking, people.
Disliked: TV channels ( only local channels available)Casting is difficult , unreliable, limited, etc Room too small.

Disappointing, not a five star...

Liked: Beds were comfy.
Disliked: This hotel doesn’t compare to other five star hotels that I’ve stayed at. Weren’t allowed to use the pool before we checked in and couldn’t check in that early. The room was an “upgrade” but was small and was a standard room and bathroom with nothing special in it that would compare it to a five star. We got engaged while staying here and there was nothing done to congratulate us on this, when I told reception they barely said congrats and didn’t make us feel special in any way which other five star hotels would. Long waiting time in the bar for a drink. Pool was in the shade and doesn’t get much sun, small pool. Building itself looks old from the outside. Staff weren’t overly friendly or helpful which would be expected with five star service. Price was high for this stay for a small standard room. This hotel is about a 3 or 4 star only in my opinion
