Charming, expensive, and good breakfast

Liked: The size of the room and it was very clean.The spa is nice, too, not extraordinary, but that was a big plus.Breakfast buffet with dairy free options and gluten-free options, too. The staff in the morning at the breakfast was very kind and efficient and attentive.Possibility to park the bicycle in the garage (although there wasn't any space - could add some racks).Nice decorations and art pieces around.Coffee and kettle with tea in the room, good bathroom too!
Disliked: The blanket was a narrow one, was the size of the single mattress. (So there were two single mattresses with on each one one smll blanket).And.. I don't know if it's because I had a last-minute deal or because I don't look like a typical luxurious hotel client (I was doing a bicycle tour, so a bit dirty) but I didn't feel welcome. There was no explanation on how the spa works (where it is or the hours and other possibilities), neither about breakfast times and its location, or even a question like "do you have any question?" There was no bathrobe in the room, although other clients had. But as soon as I went to ask, someone brought it to my room.

Liked: The hotel is in a very beautiful and quiet park. It is easy to park. My daughter enjoyed the hiking and feeding ducks/pigeons at the lake. The breakfast is good.

Long-faded glamour is not the...

Liked: Pretty location in park, convenient for Bremen conference centre.
Disliked: Room was sweltering hot despite it being only 20 degrees outside, no air conditioning at all, some windows marked 'do not open'. Opening any window meant overwhelming the room with the smell of cigarettes because it was directly above the entrance where guests are encourage to smoke. Breakfast was passable and did not warrant anything close to the 27 Euro price tag. Fixtures and fittings aged and worn. No full-length mirror anywhere, no mirror at all in natural light. This hotel describes itself as luxury; if the definition of luxury is comfort, elegance and expense, this hits only the latter.

Good to be back and...

Liked: A wonderful hotel and almost as good as it was in the 80s when I was a regular guest.
Disliked: Breakfast rather chaotic.Service staff good but the cooked breakfast poor. Swimmming pool needs to be widened.

Liked: Great service, good breakfast. Super friendly staff. Quick check-in.
Disliked: We did not have airco in our room - but we opened the balcony doors and it was fine.
