Liked: Although we were disappointed because this was not 8.2 rating hotel, we were satisfied with the cleanliness of the facility. We witnessed the housekeepers doing the job every day. They were doing a good job on a very run down building.
Disliked: It looked that this facility had not had any updates for decades. Everything was old and run down. This was neither a luxury or an economical hotel. Prepare for the bottom of the line, but clean. We question the truthfulness of the 8.2 ratings.

Exceptional

Liked: clean well maintained hotel and rooms. Very straight forward info on retrieving the room key. Free parking was a bonus. Beds were comfortable. I would defo book again next time i visit Edinburgh.

Hotel exceeded expectations.

Liked: Room very comfortable and clean. Good transport links to the shore and city. Very good value for money. Good communication links with property management.
Disliked: Very happy with our room on 1st floor but would have been difficult if room had been on upper or lower floors as no lift.

Good but no staff causes...

Liked: Solid location, 5 mins from Foot of the Walk tram stop for easy city/Leith access. We were given an outside room, as some of the rooms are in the main building (main floor, upstairs, and basement) while others are in an outside annex by the rear car park. They do not mention this in the booking details and you won't know until you get there.Our annex room was great, good beds and facilities.
Disliked: No staff on site, just 1 phone in the main building for reporting issues. We had a major issue with water supply during the stay, and this was not remedied before we left due to the lack of staff on site.
