Best hotel for Amsterdam

Liked: Exceptional hotel. Quiet rooms, clean and big. Incredible location where you can walk to all activities and easily access the train station. Make sure to include your breakfast as the buffet is fabulous. We also ate in the Hôtel restaurant Carstons for dinner and it was delicious. Friendly and helpful staff. Loved everything about it.

Liked: Location, clean room
Disliked: Room overly compact. My "superior " room with view had only a small window for view. The pictures are very misleading. People passing by room in hallway can see room entirely, because it is so compact (barely room for a king bed--cruise cabin feels more spacious). I made repeated requests for early check-in but they gave me room actually 1 hr late (4 pm). Service can be slow. I had higher expectations for this hotel

Liked: Great looking Hotel, great location to the Trains and Trams, great location to restaurants and the main shopping area and for Canal Cruises and sightseeing the city.Wonderful staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome.Wonderful Buffet BreakfastNice size rooms that are very clean and pleasant.This was one of our best Hotels during our European vacation.

Disliked: They offered an upgrade of room without charge and took my money out my account once it was confirmed only to take a further charge for the upgrade on a seperate transaction later.I had to ask for my payment receipts in SEVERAL occasions before I eventually got them.I had to write to them 4 times to explain the extra charge before I got a proper response….pathetic!I will not use them again
