The Spotlight on Park Plaza London Waterloo

Stylish Comfort Steps from London's Iconic South Bank

Modern and sleek, Park Plaza London Waterloo is a contemporary hotel in the heart of London’s cultural South Bank. Just a short stroll from Westminster Bridge and the London Eye, this hotel offers a relaxing base with upscale touches and seamless access to the city’s top music venues and nightlife.

Why Concert-goers love it

With Lambeth North Underground station just around the corner and London Waterloo Station less than five minutes on foot, getting to any London venue is a breeze. After a late-night show, the 24-hour front desk and room service make late arrivals stress-free. Soundproofed rooms and plush signature beds ensure a peaceful night’s sleep, even after the loudest encore. Plus, a noon check-out means you can sleep in the next day.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a stylish and central crash pad
- Solo travelers catching a dream gig
- Couples making a weekend of it with sightseeing and music
- Fans needing recovery time in a quieter, wellness-focused space
- Budget-conscious music lovers who appreciate quality and value

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant and coffee bar are perfect for a bite before or after a show. While there's no mention of 24/7 room service, the round-the-clock front desk and bar mean you won’t go hungry late at night. Breakfast is available and ideal for those rolling out of bed after a late one. You’ll also find plenty of walkable dining options nearby along the South Bank.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel doesn’t host live music itself, it’s close to some of London’s most popular bars, lounges, and music venues. Whether you're heading to a major arena or a riverside jazz club, you're in the right place. After the show, unwind with a drink at the hotel’s stylish bar or explore nearby spots with local flair.

What People Say

Guests rave about the location, calling it “perfect for exploring central London and getting to shows easily.” The comfortable beds, modern rooms, and spa-like bathrooms also get high marks. Many reviewers love the added bonus of the indoor pool, sauna, and steam room—a rare treat in a city hotel.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that check-in can be a little slow during peak times, and that the hotel can be busy due to its popularity. A few noted that the bar closes earlier than expected for London standards, so plan post-concert drinks accordingly.

The Bottom Line

Park Plaza London Waterloo is a smart, central pick for concert-goers who want style, comfort, and excellent transport links—all within walking distance of London’s top attractions.

Great location easy for Westminster...

Liked: Location fitted well into our plans. Westminster Abbey walking distance and the Imperial War Museum 600 yards from the hotel, tube directly across from hotel, plenty of eateries in the area. Cabs a fair price would stay again.
Disliked: No complimentary water in the rooms even when the hot weather had been into the 30s.

Pleasant

Liked: Well located
Disliked: This was our second stay at the hotel — we visited three years ago and, unfortunately, we feel that the overall quality has declined since then.During this stay, several issues significantly impacted our comfort and experience. On the day of arrival, the air conditioning was not working, which was quite inconvenient. On the second day, we noticed that basic toiletries, including shampoo, had not been replenished. At night, there was a problem with the lighting system — it couldn't be fully turned off, requiring technical assistance.Another inconvenience was the breakfast service — each morning we had to wait for a table, suggesting that the dining area is too small to efficiently accommodate the number of guests.Considering the rate of 500 £ per night, we expected a higher level of service and better attention to detail. While the hotel remains well located, these shortcomings unfortunately diminished our overall satisfaction.

Expensive, very dark and really...

Liked: The room was ok - nothing specialBreakfast was ok Exellent sauna
Disliked: At breakfast, there was no milk near the tea and coffee, so I had to get my tea and then take it over to the cereal to add milk. Sausages were overdone. In the rooms, there seemed to be an issue with the electricity. The lights in the bathroom kept flickering in one room, and in the other twin room they had to sleep with the lights on and pillows over their heads because the lights kept would not stay off. Other people at reception were complaining about electrical issues, too. Location was a bit further from the South Bank than we'd have liked.Everywhere was so dark - could barely see how to get into the toilets near the lifts. The swimming pool was dangerous - there are no markings at either end and one of my group swam straight into the end very hard - he had a headache, sore neck and felt unwell for the rest of our trip.
