Beautiful, classic, historic hotel right...

Liked: Excellent location, within walking distance of everything including the rail station, restaurant, shops, museums, boat tours … it’s all here. It’s right across the street from the lovely Central Park with its fountain, old growth trees and fabulous rose garden.
Disliked: The property is very historic which gives it its charm and character. However, everything is very dated and the walls are paper thin. The train tracks are right next to the property and there is train activity all the time all hours of the day. If you’re a light sleeper, this is a challenge.

Shabby hotel that's seen better...

Liked: The location was terrific! Many of the people on staff were helpful. We were upgraded when the AC unit in our room malfunctioned. the upgraded room was definitely nicer than our original.
Disliked: Not as clean as I would like - the floors were dirty (I could see layers of dust besides and behind the bedside tables) and it looks like the hotel's hallway/staircase rug has never been vacuumed. We paid extra for a room with a balcony but it was not nearly as nice as my brother's regular room without a balcony. It was 97 degrees but the staff recommended that we keep the AC on ~74 so it wouldn't "freeze." We put the AC on 72 and at one point water started pouring out of the unit onto the floor. The team then upgraded us. The new room was definitely nicer (and on the cooler side of the building which helped too). FWIW, bathrooms was definitely clean. As were bureau drawers and linens.

Fun Getaway

Liked: Would go back! The hotel was perfect. It was great to sit on the balcony and relax. The room was perfect and the bed was very comforable. The restaurants were fabulous. The boutiques, the boat ride, and Morse Museum were worth the time and money. This would also be a great girls getaway.
Disliked: Wish the Hotel had breakfast.
