Lovely hotel but needs modernising
Liked: Beautifully clean; food was great and service excellent
Disliked: Need modernising! Should have usb ports in bedrooms and a much slicker check in process - also jacuzzi wasn’t working which we wanted to use. For the price we paid for one night we expected more….

Beautiful though and though!
Liked: Staff were very professional, hotel was beautiful.
Disliked: So we had the spa included with our stay, and it said on the safe information guide in the room robes come with every spa booking, but unfortunately to our disappointment we would of had to pay.

Very expensive oven
Liked: Very well located hotel with nicely decorated and maintained rooms, to a point.
Disliked: I will pre-empt this review with the fact that current weather conditions are much hotter than normal. In a stay somewhere else earlier in the week, a glass fronted hotel dealt with the heat by leaving the curtains closed and a room card pre-inserted to keep the room cool. Upon arrival we found our room and noted that the curtains were closed, but the aircon was off and the room was excessively warm. Placing the room card in and activating the aircon provided little relief. After an hour we went to reception, and were advised that the south facing rooms could be warm, but inserting a card and leaving the aircon on during the evening would resolve the issue. We asked if we could have a fan also, and to be fair one was provided very quickly. The maintenance man that brought the fan agreed that the room was definitely warmer than the supposed 19 degrees that the aircon was set to. Having left the room for over six hours, we were horrified to return to a very hot room, with the aircon showing an error message. We switched it back on, but it failed after 20 minutes. Upon checkout, after a hot and sleepless night, we were asked if everything was satisfactory with our stay. We replied that unfortunately it was not. The young lady replied ‘I’m sorry to hear that’ and asked if we required a receipt. At £287 a night ( without breakfast), I’m frankly staggered. Whatever happened to customer service?
