The Park Hotel is in a quiet area in the center of this historic seaside town half a mile from Montrose Train Station and the golf course. It has free parking rooms with private bathrooms and a bar and restaurant. The Park Hotel is 330 yards from the High Street and the shops. Comfortable stay but showers need...

Liked: First thing to note is how helpful the staff are. The check in was simple and they were quick to react to a problem that required me to change room as I was moved to a Superior Room following an issue with the shower in the original room I was allocated.The room I was moved to was excellent - incredibly large with a nice sitting area and a massive bed which was very comfortable. Good location, just a few minutes walk from the town centre and around 10 mins walk from the railway station. Hotel is located in a quiet area of the town so external noise was not too much of a problem
Disliked: The shower situation was a nightmare for me. In the first room I was unable to get any hot water and the shower tray was holding water as it couldn't get down the plughole quick enough. Once moved, I'd hoped to find an improvement on the shower situation and whilst the shower in the new room was warmer it only ever got to lukewarm at best and really only offered a dribble. A morning shower is key for me and it really impacts my enjoyment of a hotel stay but as they had already moved me once, I wasn't sure what else could be done so I just put up with it for a few days

A lovely overnight in Montrose

Liked: This hotel is lovely. It is super clean and very comfortable. The staff are friendly and our room was large and spotless. We booked for dinner and there was a great choice. Would definitely recommend.
Disliked: The shower was very insipid. Slow and not very powerful.
