Liked: The chambermaid was very friendly.
Disliked: We booked to stay at the Park Hotel but in fact we were accommodated in the house next door which took us by surprise. The room was ok but only had one small swivel mirror on top of the chest of drawers and no mirrors at all in the bathroom! I like to see my reflection when I am having a shave. When we checked in on arrival we were not informed that there would be work taking place in the morning and so we were startled to wake up to the sound of hammering, drilling and sawing. We understand that work needs to be done, but it's nice to be forewarned. Parking was very tight at night although the bar was empty. We have stayed at The Park several times over the years and have always found it to be a "special" experience until now. A Travel Lodge would not have been any worse..Tea and coffee making facilities were fine and we appreciated the complimentary packet of biscuits which we shared between us. The advertised alarm clock was non-existent. We felt that we were more of an imposition than welcome guests. The chambermaid was exceptional!.
