Oliver, visiting Terminal 5 NYC Thu, 8 May 2014
Stayed for an event at Terminal 5 and it was a very good room and stay. But for the price I paid for 1 night I expected a bit more luxury. The rooms had no fridge or microwave. All in all it was worth it for the location to the venue for a day and night of rest after my flight.
Liked: Location.
Disliked: Barebones room.

Would be a 10 if...
Liked: Great location close to everything midtown without the fuss of Times Square
Disliked: The elevator situation that so many warned about.

Liked: The location.
Disliked: Lifts were being repaired and only one was working. We were on the 9th floor so no option to take the stairs. We had to wait forever to get into the lift which most of the time was fully packed. No breakfast available. Only very thin bed cover available. Had to sleep with pillows as additional cover. It was either too cold or too warm in the room. The air felt filthy. No glasses in the room even in the bathroom. The bar was outrageously expensive for very average food. Some of the staff were a bit rude.

Ok value for money.
Liked: Proximity to Central Park as well as the subway. Immediate response of maintenance for technical issues (a/c malfunctioning) as well as amenities support (kettle).
Disliked: Lack of amenities like kettle, tea and coffee in the room.Unacceptable elevator service.

Liked: Cleaning staff did an excellent job making it clean and presentable. Beds were comfy. TV had the ability to screen cast.
Disliked: The hotel is undergoing some improvements and had one of two elevators down for repair. The remaining elevator had some issues. Lines were long for super packed elevators. We took the stairs up to the 6th floor more than once. The room was a bit worn, wood edges and things damaged in places. The room didn’t have a keurig, any USB ports or any of those modern conveniences that you find at basically every hotel these days.

Liked: The room was not to far from the elevator, when it was working some time we had to use the elevator on the other end of the hall way , it was okay.
Disliked: The room did not have a good view when we looked out of the window, but we were in the middle of the happening once we got outside, it was cool.

Liked: Good location with a friendly staff and nice room.
Disliked: As mentioned (but only after booking) they were completing construction on some floors. One of the two guest elevators was not working (not mentioned) causing major delays moving between floors. Their mitigations (using service elevators) were ok, but it still made for a less desirable experience. It was also clearly a spot for student groups to stay while visiting NYC, so the lobby had a high school cafeteria atmosphere at times.
