Very pleasant and comfortable stay
Liked: Generous buffet style bfast but pleased to find out chef made omelettes to order - we weren't keen on buffet during covid. Great comfy bed, very good blockout blind, friendly staff, easy parking process at dfo.
Disliked: Coffee made by bar staff didn't hit the mark but it was great to be offered it.

Disliked: The key swipe inside the lift, take awhile to get it right, but no big deal

Decent place to stay, but...
Liked: Room was generally modern and seemed well designed. The automatic blackout blinds were a great feature. Bathroom was large.
Disliked: The overall experience lacked a few things I would expect in a 5 star hotel. On arrival there was no doorman on duty to assist and all the drop off spots were occupied by parked cars so we had to bring our bags ourselves from the Wilson Parking garage. A number of amenities were missing from our room and only provided on request, including slippers and 'do not disturb/make up my room' signs. Housekeeping also left a dirty rag in our room on day 2 which was not collected even after the room was cleaned on day 3. Day 3 housekeeping was only provided when requested, even though the 'make up my room' sign had been on the door for several hours.More concerningly, on the second night of our stay we awoke around 1am to a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the room, coming from the bathroom ventilation. We called reception and were informed it may be someone smoking illegally and security would check the fire stairs. After around 40min the smoke dissipated. Besides being uncomfortable and causing health concerns due to inhaling second-hand smoke, this incident makes me question how COVID-safe the hotel is, because clearly contaminated air from other rooms or parts of the hotel is moving between rooms due to the poor ventilation set up.The location of the hotel is definitely less convenient than most other hotels in and around the CBD for the average tourist, but may be convenient if you are visiting Docklands, the convention centre or Crown Casino.
