Really comfortable and lovely design

Liked: Wonderful design. Good location, incredibly comfortable bed, very friendly staff, lovely restaurant on the second floor. I also love the Diptyque bathroom products!
Disliked: The rooms were quite dark - I think my window backed into the alley.

Ok if you need a...

Liked: Location is good, close to fun neighborhoods. Hotel room was fairly clean, spacious but it smelled bad. I do like that they have Diptyque shower amenities, even though we had 2x shampoo and 0 body wash.
Disliked: Incompetent or blunt staff, lots of apologies but no solutions. First off we were told our room had great views (not that it mattered to us) but ended up having amazing views of a wall. No problem, laughed this off because it was just for the night -but why tell us in the first place without being prompted to? Had a room with a shower drain that was clogged, a broken AC and windows that did not open. They could not move us to another room because they were fully booked. Fine. Finding a fan for our 80+ degree room was very hard too apparently for the front desk lady sipping on her Starbucks that looked like she was getting ready for her bedtime routine. But we would get “first dibs” on a fan that never arrived until we asked a new front desk staffer at midnight. Suddenly he pulled one out from a curtain, like magic. Drain still clogged, AC still broken and no maintenance person that came by to take a look. Nothing to compensate, they’d “offer a free drink” but the bar in the hotel was not affiliated. I pressed and eventually some fees would be waved, even though it was unclear what those were. In the morning while getting ready for checkout cleaning staff enters the room and is surprised to see me because they thought I’d already checked out. I clearly had not, since I was still in the room and it wasn’t time to check out yet. Lastly, while trying to check out and make sure the fees that they told us were going to be waived as a compensation were actually in the system a random guy wearing a tshirt with the hotel logo and was clearly not front desk staff, asked if I was there to check out and when I told him yes, but I still wanted to talk to front desk he basically said that it’s all good and I’ll see it on my final invoice and ushered me out. Also, very random but the room setup is weird. I had to put the coffee machine on the floor because there was no plug for it closer by. But that’s here nor there.

Poor value for money with...

Liked: The location is convenient for exploring the city.
Disliked: Room was not cleaned during the entire stay. No double glazing – woke up every morning around 4 AM because of the garbage truck. Air conditioning was unusable due to extremely loud noise. No safe in the room. Staff were unprofessional and made the atmosphere uncomfortable.

Loved it

Liked: It’s very close to everything in SF. Great location and clean rooms. Loved the vintage elevator. Whole hotel is such a good vibe.
Disliked: We were there for our honeymoon but the room that we booked did not have the ac working. The very next day Rachel made sure that we get moved into a different and better room. She was very responsive and professional. She even waived my first night fee as we still had to stay in the room with no ac as they were fully booked. I was disappointed the first night but Rachel made sure to satisfy in every way possible.
