Good
Liked: Very friendly, helpful staff. The room was spacious & the bed was very comfortable.
Disliked: The hotel is in desperate need of maintenance & a refurb. The toilet cistern leaked in our bathroom, and there were other broken things in the room.

Very nice but doesnt live...
Liked: It was a beautiful hotel. Very Fancy and the lady who checked us in was very professional and friendly. The beds were very comfortable. There were a lot of people leaving the hotel post marathon and the staff were very accommodating in allowing a bit of extra time to vacate my room.
Disliked: It wasn't up to the "ultimate luxury" vibe that the hotel believes it has. It felt dated and there was a bandaid left in my hotel room from the previous user (not a big deal as human error but then it was still there after our room had been tended to) The lady who checked us out was too busy talking to a colleague to give us her full attention and it felt like we were bothering her and also when I mentioned that a part of her uniform was undone she sighed and said "yeah its broken" and continued to slouch in her seat with her fly open. It just felt like it was too much trouble for her to help.

It was lovely but just...
Liked: It was opulent and the location was perfect for us. It made our journey easy
Disliked: It was a bit tired and the cleaning could have been better. There was a lot of very long black hair on the floor and a lot of ants inside.

Affordable luxury in a beautiful...
Liked: Such value for money with the LUXURY ESCAPE PACKAGE - have visited the hotel many times using this package.(lincluded $150 for food/ free brekky, 2 drinks nightly, 2 adults 2kids in the 2 room suite, with bottles of Italian water.. Gracious ambience, great staff. Excellent tasting dinner in the restaurant. Lovely + light scones for tea. Altogether, a Luxurious time away from a mundane reality.
Disliked: Cutting down on costs: compared to the Versace days, no French butter, no fabulous fruit bread. No more f abundant fresh flowers: only 1 arrangement of fake flowers. Small thin towels in bathroom. No more toiletries.. phone not working. Spa closed / maybe gym too.

Nice stay and staff were...
Liked: Good location, amenities
Disliked: Maintenance is clearly on the decline. Ceilings, water fountains, etc. No ambience fragrance through air conditioning which was a hallmark under previous management.

Disappointing stay and would not...
Liked: Great location- on the Broadwater. It is the old Versace.
Disliked: Tired building with lots of wear and tear. We had a suite right on the water which gave a nice view.Booked for a family of four- only given two towels but took >4hours to get towels brought to the room. Room was large but furniture in roomat end of useable life. Very poor value for money. Poor check in process with long delays. Included buffet breakfast had included barista coffee but the buffet was pretty basic.Disappointing stay and would not stay again or recommend.

Would never stay here again
Liked: The pool looked great that’s it!
Disliked: Our stay was disappointing from start to finish. We arrived at 2:50 p.m. and were told twice that our room would be ready in “just five minutes” and that someone would come to get us. Nearly an hour later—at 3:50 p.m.—we finally had to go back and ask, only to be handed a key card with no directions or welcome. We had to ask the wait staff how to find our room. When we got there, the air-conditioning was blasting freezing air (in the middle of winter), and we couldn’t switch it off. There were no extra blankets, so we ended up using the bathrobes as makeshift covers just to stay warm. Sleep was impossible anyway—the walls are paper-thin, and we could hear every sound our neighbours made, and no doubt they heard us too.At checkout, not a single staff member asked how our stay had been. For a hotel that presents itself as “luxury,” this was far from it. The experience felt overpriced, with disinterested staff who seemed to view guest service as a burden rather than a basic expectation.Next time, we’ll stay across the road at the Sheraton—at least there, the staff are friendly, professional, and make you feel genuinely welcome
