One of the most unique...
Liked: Location is great - dead centre walking distance to everything important. The actual palazzo is incredibly unique and beautiful - lots of artwork everywhere and all the rooms / hallways are designed amazingly. The couple that run the B&B are very nice and accommodating, the breakfast is also really nice - everyone sits around a large table and cooked / baked dishes are brought out throughout the service. Very much looking forward to going back next time in Bologna.

Nice building, nice surroundings good...
Disliked: The host treated us very badly on arrival. We had informed them beforehand that we might not arive until 20 to 21 hours due to any delay with flight. When we arrived the host gentleman told us the hostess was not expecting us to arrive until 21 hours.Wew had to wait over 20 mins to be shown to our room. The following morn and subsequently, we were not greeted very nicely as she treated other guests differently

Perfect
Liked: We spent a few wonderful nights in a 15th century palace. This experience in Bologna was very memorable. We had a rich breakfast every morning accompanied by classical music and a different dessert every day. All the staff were warm and friendly. Looking forward to our next stay.
Disliked: none.

Exceptional experience
Liked: The Palazzo di Alcina is a beautiful Renaissance villa which has been in the host's family for generations. The decor and artwork is breathtaking. It was such a privilege to be able to stay in a genuine Palazzo and to meet the hosts Maria Christina and her husband. They are two exquisite and cultured people who are happy to share their beautiful home with guests. From the first welcome to the farewell at the end of our stay we were treated with generosity and warmth by this exceptional couple. The passion and enthusiasm they have for Bologna and the artistic treasures of this beautiful city really shine through. Maria Christina provides the most unbelievable breakfasts each morning in a sumptuous room with an astonishing choice of local products, fruit and pastries. In addition to all that each day we were treated to a homemade sweet treat and gourmet dishes such as omelette with truffle and vitello tonnato. All served with care and precision by Maria Christina and the delightful Anna. Our room was a deluxe double suite and the decor was in keeping with the renaissance style of the Palazzo but with the most comfortable bed and modern bathroom. Staying here for 3 days was like stepping back into another time but with all the modern comforts we expect nowadays. We will remember the experience for a very long time and really hope to return one day.
Disliked: Having to leave and return to reality.
