Polite in Paducah
Liked: The host, James, was genuinely kind & friendly. He was transparent about the room options (the b&b also includes the home next door). It was clean, quiet, comfortable, economical and well located (close to old town & riverfront). The town of Paducah is charming and I hope my travels bring me back again someday for a longer visit.

Loved our stay!
Liked: The property was unique, interesting, beautiful and close to downtown with easy access to parking. James was so kind and helpful. My husband and I booked last minute and we have never stayed in a bed and breakfast, but we will be back while passing through the area.

Last minute road trip
Liked: Good location. Comfortable bed. Inexpensive. The manager was very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: I didn't find a thermostat to adjust the temperature, but I was able to open the windows for some cool air.

Great place if you don’t...
Liked: It was a unique place to stay. The main house is beautiful but they had us stay in a second house that was next door to the historic house that I thought we were going to stay in.
Disliked: When we first walked up the stairs to our room there was the strong odor of weed that my 13 year old son pointed out to me. We also wanted to lounge on the deck in the morning to enjoy our coffee but someone was smoking below us and the smoke was unbearable. There was also an ashtray full of cigarettes left on our private deck.

No recommendation.
Liked: Bed was comfortable.
Disliked: Several things. I’m not sure if 1895 Washington Hotel wants to be a motel, bed and breakfast although no breakfast was offered. The house we expected to stay in had drumming equipment in the living room. The dining room had plates of leftover breakfast and dirty dishes on table. Kitchen had leftover breakfast food. It was 5 pm when we checked in.James the reservationist told us we were staying in the house next door which was a home in the craftsman style. There was no where to sit in the living room. The furnishings left a lot to be desired. The kitchen was well equipped, but no paper towels or napkins were offered. The locks were easy to use and we felt safe. We sat on the front porch in comfortable old wicker rockers. Both of these houses could have a lot of charm, but that hasn’t been given a thought. If you are used to staying in bed and breakfast this will disappoint you.
