The Spotlight on Pacific Shores Resort & Spa

Peaceful Resort Retreat Just Minutes from Parksville Shows

Modern yet rustic, Pacific Shores Resort & Spa offers a serene coastal getaway in Nanoose Bay, just 10 minutes from Parksville and a short drive from Nanaimo’s concert venues. With free WiFi, a swimming pool, and the calming backdrop of nature, this resort-style property is ideal for those looking to combine live music with relaxation.
Many rooms feature kitchens and flat-screen TVs, and there’s free private parking on-site, making it super convenient for road-tripping music fans.

Why Concert-goers love it

Pacific Shores offers a quiet, laid-back atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding after a high-energy show. Located just a short drive to Parksville and Nanaimo, you’ll be close to several popular music venues without the downtown noise. With late check-in from 4:00 PM and easy parking, it’s a stress-free landing spot after a long night. While public transport is limited in the area, taxis and ride-shares are typically available.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking to relax between shows
- Solo travelers chasing bucket-list gigs in nearby cities
- Couples combining a concert with a romantic retreat
- Fans who value peace and quiet after a loud night
- Budget-conscious music lovers wanting good value and amenities

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no on-site restaurant open late, many units offer kitchen facilities to prep your own post-concert snacks. A short drive brings you to local eateries in Parksville, several of which stay open late. There’s no 24/7 room service, but you can plan ahead thanks to the in-room kitchenettes. Breakfast options are available nearby for slow, late-start mornings.

Nightlife Options

Though the resort itself is more about tranquility than nightlife, you’re only minutes from Parksville’s low-key bars and lounges. Nanaimo, just 30 minutes away, offers a wider nightlife scene with pubs, craft beer spots, and occasional live music venues.

What People Say

Guests love the peaceful setting, clean rooms, and the chance to unwind in nature. Reviews frequently mention the spacious suites and the convenience of having a kitchen. The friendly staff and great value for money also earn high marks, especially for longer stays.

Areas for Improvement

While the location is beautiful, those without a car may find it a bit remote. Limited dining options on-site mean you'll likely need to venture out for meals. The early 8:30 AM checkout can feel a bit rushed after a late night out.

The Bottom Line

Pacific Shores Resort & Spa is ideal for concert-goers wanting a peaceful, affordable, and amenity-rich stay near Parksville and Nanaimo music venues.

Ok stay, but…….

Liked: Not too far from ferryCleanComfy bed
Disliked: Restaurant closes at 9 (very early) Room wasn’t made up and coffee etc were not replenished, even tho we stayed 2 nights. Room was dark, set back from the outside and zero view…and lots of noise from next door. There were plenty of empty rooms which looked much nicer but they weren’t offered/given to us. We bought crisps from reception but were not allowed to eat them with our beer (purchased in the bar) … separate businesses apparently 🤷🏼‍♀️. Shower outside in ladies washroom (near jacuzzi) had no water in it/didn’t work. Quite expensive when all the above things taken into consideration.Would not return

Passable

Liked: It was very clean, the room was large The pool and hot tubs were great
Disliked: The beds were very uncomfortable

Poor - 1.5 out of 5

Vikram Thu, 26 June 2025

Poor

Disliked: paid for a resort with advertised amenities, but many were closed—and I wasn’t told until *after* booking. Charging full price (plus resort fees) for limited access is unfair. Also, the room was dirty at check-in (hair, trash, open bottles), and staff questioned me when I complained. For the price, this is unacceptable. Fix the misleading advertising and cleanliness issues
