Convenient and nice staff but...
Liked: It was a great location for work, and the setting was pretty, being on the water. There is a nice bar and restaurant within the hotel. Free coffee is available in the morning. The housekeeper tried to make nice folds with towels, similar to those on a cruise. Has a cool glass elevator, too. The staff was friendly.
Disliked: There is construction going on next to it, which gives it a city vibe and not in a fun way. My room had one of those old floor A/C units that blows right on the first bed, making a very loud creaking noise when it stopped, which constantly woke me up all night long, especially since it was August. Half the night, I thought the noise was coming from a door in the room above being closed over and over again (seriously, it sounded just like a haunted house door!), and kept wondering how many times these people could use the bathroom in one night, and so desperately wanted sleep from traveling and working. Then, about 3 am, I realized it was coming from my a/c. I had to sleep in the second bed, the farthest one away from the a/c, to avoid the air blowing directly on me (that is a me thing - I get sick if air blows on me, so it's not their fault!). The front desk asked about my stay in the morning, so I mentioned being woken up constantly at night due to this and feeling exhausted. They said this was new and offered to have someone look into it. But was it new? - we will never know, will we... And just sorry is the only consolation I received for no sleep and hours of travel ahead of me. I ate there the night before, having a small appetizer and one drink (honestly, I would have drunk more if I knew what was in store for my night). So, maybe a small compensation towards that to make up for it, or something else, if that wasn't possible, would have made a big difference, just a thought. The fixtures are very dated, much like me, I suppose. For instance, the shower had the same faux crystal shower knob I had when I was a child. But I can tell the staff are trying with what is available to them, especially post-COVID.

My experience was uneven as...
Liked: clean room, some employees friendly, accommodating, and efficient (desk employees and the person seating people in the dining room the evening of 7-27) while others serving in the dining room ignored me, cleaning staff assigned to floor 5 during my stay 7-27 to 7-28 was very helpful
Disliked: Wait staff in dining room not organized, neither seemed to know who should be waiting on me, I was ignored by one and one who did come didn't return, apetizer took an hour to come, I had to get a check from the host in order to leave. Apetizer good when it finally arrived wordlessly from a person not a server. I intended to have breakfast in the restaurant but given the bad experience at dinnertime, I opted for McDonald's. Price was not an issue--service was so bad that I would not return to the restaurant in the hotel.

Very good
Liked: morning coffee and muffins, being able to walk into town, being near our event location, friendly staff, clean room and very comfortable bed, dinner at the restaurant was excellent
Disliked: We had to be moved to another room as the room assigned had no phone, no hair dryer, no iron; the safe did not open, and there was not one picture on the walls though there were hooks to hang artwork. The lovely room attendant who was cleaning Rm 409 across the hall from our assigned room was kind enough to observe these things missing. She suggested we use the phone in Rm 409 to call the front desk . We did and spoke to Krista who was very apologetic and said she would talk to the manager. We were "upgraded" to Rm 409 which had a most lovely view of the Navesink River. But the bathroom was very tiny and outdated in comparison to the first room assigned. We would have thought the upgraded room would have had the updates sooner. We did appreciate the effort to solve our disappoinment. In addition, we were surprised that the Oyster Point Hotel had no outdoor property on the water for guests to enjoy. Also, it would have been helpful to have a heads up on how to safely get onto Bodman Place. What a hazardous intersection; we saw a couple of near accidents and dreaded pulling in and out ourselves.

Nice people, lovely view
Liked: Service was really good, at the desk and the bar. Great view
Disliked: We went into the wrong lot because the sign said Oyster Point Hotel--but it was an apartment building

Good
Disliked: Walls are paper thin. Heard conversation in next room as if there were no walls. Since they partied late, we didn’t get much sleep.View on the other hand was great
