Loved Durham. Hotel location was...

Liked: Location
Disliked: Not a 4 or 5 star stay. Dated room. Poor and depleted decor. A 4 or 5 star hotel is not like this. Very poor breakfast for a supposed 4 or 5 star hotel. Honestly I have had better from the van on the side of the road

Disappointing

Liked: Close to the town
Disliked: Very small room with shower room in the room, lack of toiletries in the bathroom. The breakfast was poor no cereals or fruit juice or bread, just a cooked breakfast.

Good location with friendly staff...

Liked: Location. Staff.
Disliked: Room (Azurri) was hot and stuffy despite two electric blowers - which didn’t seem to have a cooling option. Only one of the two windows partially opened. No breakfast choice - only full English ( or part thereof) offered. No fruit or cereal on offer which, given the cost, was very surprising. btw reference to 'private parking' is simply not true - parking, if you can get it, is across the road 90p/30mins between 8am and 6pm.

Disappointing. This used to be...

Liked: The rooms are well decorated
Disliked: There was no bathmat and the shampoo and conditioner bottles were empty. A power cut the day before meant no breakfast as the delivery hadn't arrived. If I'd have been the owner I'd have gone to a supermarket. No refund was offered for lack of breakfast.

We won't come back

Liked: location
Disliked: Our room felt unclean, sheets were left hanging on the bathroom door, and the carpet looked dirty. The sheets were not creased, and the windows wouldn't open. The room was small, as was the bed, which had a soft, spongy mattress.

Gorgeous room very close to...

Liked: Loved the location. And the room was gorgeous.
Disliked: We did explain when we went down for breakfast that there was no hot water so couldn't shower or bath which was upsetting as it is quite expensive to stay here and choose the room because of the bath. They did inform us that there was a gas leak which was out of their control. It just would have been nice to have have had a bath.
