The Spotlight on OYO Flagship The Regency

Classic Charm Close to Bristol’s Music Scene

OYO Flagship The Regency blends traditional British architecture with budget-friendly comfort in the charming Clifton area of Bristol. Set in a Grade II listed building, this hotel is just a short ride from the city’s buzzing concert venues, shopping spots, and cultural landmarks. With free WiFi and flat-screen TVs in every room, it’s a simple, no-fuss base for your music-filled getaway.

Why Concert-goers love it

Heading to a show? You’ll love that this hotel is only a quick drive or cab ride from major venues like O2 Academy and Bristol Harbourside. After the encore, you can easily make your way back for a quiet night’s sleep in a peaceful part of town. While check-in starts at 3:00 PM, the hotel’s central location means you won’t miss a beat—even if you're arriving later in the day.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends heading to a gig and splitting a budget-friendly stay
  • Solo travelers catching a dream concert and needing a reliable home base
  • Couples turning a show into a romantic weekend
  • Fans who prefer a laid-back, quiet recovery space after a night out
  • Budget-conscious music fans who value location over frills

Food and Drink Options

While the hotel doesn’t offer on-site dining between 8 AM and 2:30 PM, its prime location in Clifton puts you within walking distance of plenty of cafes, takeaways, and late-night eats. Whether you’re grabbing a bite before the show or hunting for a post-concert snack, you won’t go hungry.

Nightlife Options

Clifton is known for its relaxed pubs, indie bars, and cozy lounges—many within a short stroll. You’re also just minutes by cab from Bristol's livelier areas if you're looking to keep the night going after the encore. There’s no on-site bar, but plenty of options nearby for a pre-show drink or nightcap.

What People Say

Guests love the location—close to the city but in a quieter, charming neighborhood. Reviewers also appreciate the friendly staff, historic character, and value for money. The free WiFi and comfy beds earn consistent thumbs-up from travelers.

Areas for Improvement

The hotel’s amenities are a bit limited—there’s no lift and no breakfast during morning hours (8 AM to 2:30 PM), which may be a downside for early risers. Rooms are basic, so if you're after luxury, this might not be your match—but it's clean and comfortable for a concert weekend.

The Bottom Line

OYO Flagship The Regency is a low-key, well-located base that puts you close to Bristol’s music venues without the downtown noise or high prices.

Breakfast a bit pricey.

Liked: Very warm welcome and help with luggage. Taxi booked for us. Rooms very well equipped and comfortable; easy to find.
Disliked: Really needs a lift.

Poor

Liked: The key codes worked well
Disliked: The hotel is lovely from the outside. Parking is limited. Check in was ok although there are no lifts and we had to drag our luggage up to the second level. The room we stayed in is in dire need of renovation. The carpets were so stained you could not take your shoes off. The walls all need repainting as well as they are stained badly as well. The bedding covers were clean but the duvets inside the bedding were stained. There were no reading lamps on the bedside table only one overhead light. The bathroom was a bit smelly and the washbasin was badly smashed. In the morning the shower water ran cold when my daughter was in the shower. It was only 9am so you'd expect to still be able to take a warm shower. There was a lot of noise from people walking home drunk after a night out. Thankfully this stopped after midnight. We had to keep the sash window wide open all night as it was so hot in the room despite cool outside temperatures over the previous days. This meant we were kept awake by the street lighting and noise. The room was reasonably priced at £71 for a triple room. We did not expect luxury or extras but clean carpets and bedding are a must. The location was convenient but we did not get much sleep due to factors mentioned above so we won't be returning. It's a shame as this could be such a nice little hotel if a bit of money was spent freshening it up. Clearly run by a chain and not somebody's pride and joy. Beware!

Great value for money, very...

Liked: Good price, convenient location
Disliked: Booking.com didn't send us the right codes for access, and the code didn't work.. luckily there was someone available at the hotel to get us new codes. The method to access the hotel and room was unclear and poorly described by booking.com. the hotel itself was very good value for money but the experience was spoiled by the access code issue

Liked: This hotel is unfit for purpose. Filthy from top to bottom. It took us forty five minutes and numerous phone calls to get in. A shambles.
Disliked: Everything. This hotel should not be on booking.com. It is disgusting
