Great location, lovely staff, quirky...

Liked: Great family room, kids room up little stairs to a second floor! Lovely views over beach. Staff were excellent - helpful and friendly.
Disliked: Rooms quite basic, needed a bit of tlc but comfortable - apart from pillows which seemed new but not soft - like a huge boulder! I ended up rolling up towels instead!

Bad

Liked: Zero.
Disliked: Was told by the consistently rude receptionist (one of TWO aggressive harridans) that I was not allowed to store ANYTHING in the hotel - though they had LOADS of room due to the unused restaurant AND BAR.! I had brought my ebike into the very large reception area the night before. In the morning, I said that there appeared to be no lock up facility for bikes in the UNLIT car park (I arrived at night and couldn't see to lock my bike up). She didn't know (?) whether there was a bike lock facility and told ME, the customer, to go out and look. After having done so, I told her that there indeed WASN'T one and that I'd had to lock my bike up against a drain pipe - not the security of situations. I then informed her that I was concerned about the situation and would have to hold the hotel responsible should anything happen to it. She then rather aggressively told me that the hotel doesn't HAVE to provide such a lock up facility (EVERY hotel that I have stayed in DOES, both here AND abroad) - thus implying that I was being unnecessarily difficult by not driving a car!!!At a time when we are being encouraged to 'GO GREEN...!!!

Bad

Liked: Nothing really.
Disliked: Rude, ignorant and unhelpful staff. Worse than that, they took their aggressive behavior to new heights; on more than one occasion actually following me and my business colleague around, haranguing and criticising us for exploring the hotel. We were attempting to find the restaurant; only to discover that there wasn't one!! We booked on the understanding that there was one as the hotel location is quite remote. When we realised the lack of facilities (there is NO bar either.!... apparently closed for refurbishment...), we crossed to the only eateries in the area, only to be rather rudely told that we were ONLY allowed drinks and CAKE? FOR BREAKFAST!?My colleague and friend then had to walk into town (he has health conditions),

Lovely place, would stay again

Liked: Great location, cozy room, clean & comfortable. Great service from staff too.
Disliked: I would’ve preferred to have the toilet on the main floor of the suite. However, my son really enjoyed the separate bedroom upstairs, where the bathroom was, so it was fine.

Worst hotel experience ever

Liked: The location, by the beach. Literally the only positive thing about the hotel. Ruined quickly by the experience of staying there.
Disliked: Not told there was a dog charge of £15 a night until we checked in. The restaurant/bar was not open due to refurbishment. Our sea view was ruined as the window was so dirty the sea was a blur. Scaffolding outside the window. Room heated to 39 degrees at night, like trying to sleep in a sauna. 12.30am had to get staff to try and turn radiator off, two men in tiny room for ages being hostile to husband. Bed uncomfortable. We were booked in for 2 nights but complained after a sleepless night and said we wanted a refund for the second night and dog charges. Eventually hotel agreed, but husband then had to spend hours chasing by phone and email to get the refund promised. Took days. No refund given for awful first night.
