It’s a quiet, safe place...
Liked: Easy reach of the seafront by walking. WestCliff on railway station 5 minutes away and is a direct line to London Southend and Leigh on sea. The hotel is located on a quiet side residential street. The rooms are clean,,with a television and a kettle to make hot drinks. There was street parking right outside the property. The staff were very helpful completing my online check in and getting codes for access to the hotel and room.
Disliked: N/A

Fluffy Cushions made of skull
Liked: The off duty Receptionist came through to help me complete the literally impossible task of Self-Check-In He had to go and get his laptop as it was impossible by mobile phone. He was bamboozled too and discovered that certain functionality was 'gone, it's not supposed to do that!'I arrived at 22.10 and got through the door to reception as another guest was going out the locked door to smokeThe guest said 'Your too late now, they all finish at 10pm'There was a keylock on the outside of the Hotel which in theory I should have received entry instructions for. I did not.Once inside the darkened reception area, there was an intercom to speak to a disembodied voice who told me that the Wi-Fi code and instructions for self check in were stuck on the glass next to the intercom. It was hard to see in the dark, but I found a Wi-Fi code that did NOT workI was tired and just wanted to go to bed and this was so taxing.'Check-In 101' is surely, make it smooth and painlessThis was as rough as a badger's bum and agonyThank you again to George who came and helped me
Disliked: The doors had keylocks which emit a warning tone every 40 seconds if the door is unlocked. I know this because the room next door did this all night long- tortureThe keylocks take you through a portal to Rigsby's boarding house from the 70's sitcom Rising Damp. The room was tiny, filthy and the bed was very uncomfortable. I lay on top of the bed as I did not want to go under the thin duvet.George had escorted me to my room and told me my Entry Code out loud despite having already written in on a piece of paper for me. It was loud enough for the strangely behaving guest stood in the adjacent room with his head half jammed out his door to overhear. George told me where the correct Wi-Fi code was written on another piece of paper stuck near the Intercom downstairs at Reception. When I opened my door to go back down to Reception I could see that the weirdly behaving guest in the room 5 feet down the corridor had stuck a fluffy cushion in his door to keep it from closing. I would have to walk past this open door in the dark corridor and weighed up what was going on for about a minute. Had he nipped to the toilet and forgotten his Entry Code. I shut my door and waited about 30 minutes. I looked out and the grey cushion was still sticking out about 5 feet up the door and there was silence.I decided to rush past the door down to reception. On coming back from downstairs to my horror I saw that the grey fluffy cushion was in fact his head!I approached with caution ready for action if need be, but he was comatose, standing up with his head in the door jamme and his body behind the door. ScaryI was up and out by 7am after zero sleep, ready in case I had to do battle with anyone who had overheard my Entry Code.

Don't pay cash deposit as...
Liked: Room was a good size and clean
Disliked: Property sent a message before check in to advise there is a £50 deposit to be paid in cash, when I arrived there were some issues with the self check in so had to be manually checked in which took a while. The biggest issue was check out, despite advising that check out was at 10am there was no one at reception around this time. I tried ringing the bell at reception and the numbers I was provided at check in and on the signage but there was no answer. Staff on site advised that the owner was in church and unable to be contacted and they themselves were unable to assist. After 40 minutes I bumped into the cleaner coming out of another room who was able to assist.

Doesn’t worth the price. Overpriced.
Liked: The bed only as it was comfortable. The location is also good.
Disliked: The hotel is old ( looks like more a shared house) room is too old, doesn’t matches with the photos on the website. The bathroom is a small cubicle with air cabinet’ door that we can see through! Doesn’t have hair dryer, no shampoo only a small soap . The room was too hot, didn’t have air conditioning or fan. We complained and they brought a fan for us. The staff were helpful. Overpriced. We paid £75 per night we stayed 2 nights.
