The Spotlight on Oxford Hotel

Affordable Comfort Steps from Earl's Court

Modern convenience meets classic charm at the Oxford Hotel, located on a peaceful, tree-lined street just around the corner from Earl's Court Underground Station. This budget-friendly hotel is right in the heart of West London, within easy walking distance to top exhibition centres and concert venues. With simple, comfortable en-suite rooms, free WiFi, and leafy views from both the front and back, it's a solid base for music lovers looking to explore the city.

Why Concert-goers love it

Being just a 2-minute walk from Earl's Court Station means you're well-connected to London’s biggest music venues without the late-night commute stress. After the show, retreat to a quiet residential street away from the crowds. The 24-hour reception is perfect for late check-ins, and with lifts to all floors, you won’t be dragging gear up the stairs. Whether you're catching a show at Olympia or heading into central London, this location makes it easy.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to split a budget room near the Tube
  • Solo travelers chasing a dream gig with easy transport
  • Couples wanting a laid-back weekend near Kensington
  • Fans after a quiet place to crash post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who want value over frills

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no on-site restaurant for dinner, the hotel’s air-conditioned breakfast room serves a simple morning spread—ideal after a late night. With Earl's Court Road just steps away, you’ve got plenty of pubs, cafes, and takeaways within walking distance, many open late. No room service here, but you won’t go hungry with so much nearby.

Nightlife Options

You won’t find a bar in the building, but you’re just minutes from vibrant local pubs and lounges around Kensington, Earl’s Court, and Fulham. Whether you're after a quiet pint or a post-show cocktail, there’s something for every vibe. Live music pubs and late-night spots dot the area, offering plenty of ways to keep the party going.

What People Say

Guests consistently say the Oxford Hotel is great value for the location, with special praise for how close it is to the Tube. Reviewers love the peaceful atmosphere after a busy night out and mention the staff as friendly and helpful. Rooms are described as basic but clean, with many guests happy to trade luxury for convenience.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms here are on the smaller side, and the décor is a bit dated—but that’s part of the budget charm. Breakfast is fairly minimal, and some guests have mentioned that the WiFi can be spotty during peak hours. That said, if you're here for the gigs, you probably won’t be spending much time in your room anyway.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for an affordable, quiet place to recharge after a concert—just steps from the Underground—Oxford Hotel hits the right notes.

Disliked: Because it was part of a group,It was hard to find where to check in. Better visibility on that would improve things - I wasn’t the only traveller that day confused

Disappointing

Liked: It was clean and the location was great.
Disliked: Small and depressing room. We stayed for 3 nights and the only window looked into an installation shafts with like 10cm of daylight. The ventilation and plumbing were so loud, wengot awake during the night. The extractor fan in the bathroom wasn't working, so the room was extremely damp after a shower. That amazing window could barely be opened. The room was so small, that you can't be in, if you have more than a small backpack. The hotel was in a neighbouring building to the reception, and they made me gp to reception and carry myself an iron and ironing board.

Wonderful Stay with the Kindest...

Liked: The Oxford Hotel is in a great spot; just a 2-minute walk from Earl’s Court station, which made getting around super easy. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, but what really stood out was the staff. I got sick during my stay, and one of the team members went above and beyond - he took my card and went out to buy me medicine. I was honestly blown away by how thoughtful and kind they were. Such a comforting place to stay, especially when traveling solo.

Good location, nice and clean...

Liked: Location was great, room was stylish and comfortable
Disliked: The staff weren’t the most helpful, nothing was mentioned about breakfast options. When I rang to say the WiFi QR Code didn’t work the call taker was quite rude when responding to me, I could not understand what the code he was saying was so I asked them to spell it, the response wasn’t very nice and then the phone went down. The people in the room above me sounded like they were moving the furniture around all the time, they were very noisy.

Perfect if you are not...

Liked: close to the tube, clean rooms, perfect location
Disliked: We stayed in room 414 which was in the lower basement of another building which wasn’t Oxford Hotel but Merit Kensington. However the room had a ‘balcony door that was open and could not be closed. The door went to a dirty shaft with no daylight.I went to the reception the next morning and asked for another room but I was only offered that someone come and lock the door. Then it was not possible to open it for fresh air anymore. So I went to the reception the next morning again and the lady there made me feel like the dumbest person on earth who doesn’t know how to open a window. She said she’ll send someone right away but nobody showed up.The most annoying thing however was that inside this shaft there were lots of pipes and they were not attached properly so there was water running out of a pipe for a couple of hours in the middle of the night from about two meters high on the floor next to our room. It was so loud that we couldn’t sleep. I assume it was rain water. It was like being next to a running shower.
